Strength Training Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was taking a look at some success stories and I kept seeing that a lot of the women started noticing a big change when they started strength training. Getting a gym membership is not possible for me right now, and as far as weights go, I only have two sets of those little 4 lb. hand weights. Does anyone have any strength training techniques that I can do without weights, or with something around the home? I don't even know where to start, but I would really like to have a plan. I do cardio now, mostly the exercise bike, but I want to gain more lean muscle. All suggestions are appreciated!

There are a lot of bodyweight exercises you can do. Air squats, planks, push-ups, pull-ups, lunges. With a stability ball, you can add variations.0

Body weight exercises are great. Think of push ups, planks, squats, lunges, dips. Here are some ideas.

Also, there is a DVD by Kelly Coffey Meyer 30 Minutes to Fitness: Body Training. This has 2 - 30 minute workouts & lots of premixes. You don't need equipment. There is a modifier throughout! A beginner can do this too.

You can also use empty gallon milk jugs as dumbbells. Fill with water and they become approximately 8 lbs each (if you need to upgrade from the 4 lb weights you already have). There are all kinds of "dumbbell exercises you can do to strengthen your arms, shoulders, back, etc. Hope this helps! Good Luck! :-)0

Here's a good body-weight workout. No affiliation on my part, but it's working nicely for my wife: http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/0

Yoga is another way to look at increasing strength. It's all about body weight exercises. DVDs are fairly inexpensive too.0
