Hi everyone! I used to be so good at using the myfitnesspal app on my phone. I even lost a few pounds doing it, but that was a year ago and I need to get back into the habit. I'm starting to use it today, and I plan on offically starting BFL when I return from vacation (3/12). If I was smart, I would have done this months before vacation, but hey...no sense focusing on the past, right? Are there any other BFL-ers that can offer advice on home exercise and recipies? I've done it before, and saw progress, but it's so easy to fall off the wagon when you don't have any support (and are addicted to guacamole and chips)!

I am re-starting today also. Four years ago, I lost a total of 40 pounds using another food diary website. I've gained back about 25 of it. I am re-committing to getting in shape and losing the weight again. I exercise at home and have done tons of research on home fitness DVDs. I also want to get back into running. Maybe others with similar goals would be interested in "friending" us? I am not sure how that works.
  • I'm not too sure how that works either! I run and have for years. A great resource for runners of any level is: runnersworld.com. They have plans for beginners to experts.

What type of exercise do you do at home? I lift weights using dumbbells and for cardio I try to run, but since it's still cold out I've talked myself out of it more times than not.

Over the past four years, I have acquired about 20 fitness DVDs, including cardio (walking, intervals, etc.), strength training (I have up to 20 lb. dumbells and a barbell with 60 lb.); and mixed strength and cardio. Right now, I am doing a rotation of Supreme 90 and Wieder X-Factor- ST. Both sets are great in their own way. They are pretty widely available if you are interested. I also have a treadmill, but prefer to run outside when I do. What I really need to do to STOP EATING!
  • A 40 pound weight loss is amazing. The 25 you gained back will be much easier to lose. You know what it takes because you've made the journey before. It's all about forming new, healthy habits.

Other than exercising self-control, the hardest part is getting the food diary set up. I realized last time that you tend to eat the same things, so logging gets easier when you have "favorities" ready to click on. When I started logging the first time, I would sometimes eat the same thing just to make it easier to complete the log!
