Almond Milk - Goitrogenic and Carcinogenic?

Anyone got any input on this?
I just tried almond milk for the first time and kind of fell in love with how delicious it is (I tried it because regular milk seems to give me upset stomachs... I'm probably mildly lactose intolerant). But on reading up a bit I found indications that it's goitrogenic and that certain brands have carrageenan in them which is a known tumor promoter. Is this something that only applies to large amounts? Is 1 cup every other day or so nothing to be bothered about?

God I hope not! I'm allergic to both dairy and soy so almond is my main choice (rice milk coasts more where I live). Definitely checking back on this thread.0

Almonds aren't listed as a Goitrogenic food. If you're really concerned about Goitrogenic foods, gluten containing foods and soy are ones. The site also said Avocadoes stimulate thyroid function.

Here's an article that I found about Carrageenan. I don't know how reliable the source is but you might not want to risk using products with it.

Silk Almond MIlk doesn't have carrageenan in it. They use locust bean gum and gellan gum, whatever those are.0 -
I found this link suggesting it is safe, which seems more reliable than the blogs and forums I found criticizing its safety. Also I found multiple doctors saying it is safe and only one, who popped up again and again, suggesting otherwise.

I can see how they can say that it's carcinogenic since there is a non food grade version that is. I'm not really worried about it after reading that article. Foods that do have carrageenan usually only have a small percentage of it in it anyway.0
