    Hi.

Today officially I finished my 5th week, tomorrow is my rest day, and after that the scary part is coming (2nd month where the real insanity begins).

I am 38, reasonably muscular and overweight, but not fit at all, Before starting insanity, I thought it was going to be impossible to even complete 1 workout, but I focused and started with a huge motivation! It has been hard. I have been "digging deeper" everyday, never skipping a workout. My endurance has increased a lot!!

I have not lost a ton of weight (actually only 4 lb) but I have lost a lot of inches everywhere, my friends and family have also noticed that.

My opinion is that of course it works! It is a way of increase endurance and get fit (and subsequently lose fat) If you really concentrate in the workouts (and specially in the nutrition guide) you will get good results.

If some people say that insanity doesnt work it is because they think that all you have to do is to press play in your DVD player and sit in the couch while eating crisps and doughnuts and magically you will get your dream body overnight. Of course it doesnt work that way, there is pain, sweat, sore muscules, etc, but the reward is worth it.

I did 4 straight rounds of Insanity. I lost between 50-60 lbs. and 5 dress sizes during those 8 months. I also changed my diet so it just wasn't Insanity, but it helped A LOT.

I was thinking of starting Monday too. I am a little nervous too. Maybe we can start together. I am not so much looking to lose weight as to tone up more.

Yes i have heard that many people haven't really lost weight with it but mainly inches..which is fine by me as long as i can SEE results.
Congrats for coming this far and good luck with the rest of it & thank you for your input :)

I keep going back and fourth.
I want to start, but then I think, no I will wait a week.
I think I am ready for it. I just finished Ripped in 30. However I feel bad when I cant keep up with a workout. I dont want to set my self up for failure or push my self to hard.
    I DONT KNOW!
I should just do it right?

    Hi

I have three weeks left and I will have finished Insanity for the first time.

    I am absolutely loving it.

I have been a gym junkie/runner/aerobics instructor/PT for 25 years and haven't had so much of a challenge in a workout for a long time.

My daughter and I have been doing it together and at the last measurement she had lost 15.5cm and I had lost 10.5cm.

Don't worry about the scale, but take measurements. I didn't take before photos but I sure wish I had.

After we are done we are going to do the P90X/Insanity hybrid.

    Enjoy.

So for tracking excercise purposes on this site. How do you enter in the insanity, as just cardio? It's so intense and high impact that I think your cheating yourself if you only count it as cardio.

    Hi!

I'm on my second week of insanity and I started completely unfit and without any background of training, just some bodyrock-.workouts now and then. Shaun T has incredible charisma, he really makes you do your best!
I've noticed increased sweating in the workouts (more intensity I guess) and I feel I can keep up a little better every time I do a workout.
My eating has been a bit off track so I haven't seen any weight-loss results but my energylevels are higher, strating today my eating habits will also change and I'm sure there will be results.

As for tracking, I track it as "aerobics - high impact", about 45-60min, that creates about 400-500 in calories for me. Reading other threads I've found out that people with HRMs (the devices that track your calories) burn AT LEAST 400cal/insanity workout, some have tracked insane amounts like 800cal/workout. I rather cheat myself to less calories than to too many :)

My point is that if I can start insanity without that much experience and push through, so can you! Drink massive amounts of water. Stop when you can't keep going but continue as soon as you're able to, even if you continue slow. Don't try to go as fast as the people in the video - go as fast as YOU can.

I love insanity, it's possible if you make it possible for yourself. Good luck with your insanity journey!
