What is your go to "stress" food that makes you feel better, but doesn't send you off track or over your calorie allotment for the day?

Popcorn. I get to munch on something salty, crunchy, and buttery and it's still not too bad on calories.

    ^^ yes! lol

Usually tho, I tend to cook something comforting for dinner rather than snack. Once I start to snack when stressed I tend to keep going back, so I give myself a comfort meal instead.

Popcorn, with salt but no butter. Unfortunately, it tends to be in large quantities.

So if you see ten cups of popcorn (my bowl) on my diary, I was probably grouchy. :P
  • My strawberry vi shake :) So delicious, and doesn't put me off my calories, but gives me great nutrition!

    Poor man's pizza

1 quesidilla (spinach is best with the least calories they also have low carb ones)
1/4th cup of cheese (fat free)
    green onion to taste
    diced tomatoes
    (sometimes bacon or ham)
    1 min in microwave
fold in half cut into wedges and dip in fat free ranch or plain
less than 250 calories depending on what you use for fillings and dips. Filling, fast, and cheesy!

Brownies, but now that I'm trying to be healthier I usually grab some sort of spiced chai tea :)

    Haha! Yes, or vodka!

Usually it's whole wheat mac and cheese, though.

I guess I'm still looking for the healthy go to food. I'm still running to the sweet, the fried, and the fattening. :P Good thing I don't keep much of that in the house.

For crunchy things I go to either Snikkidy southwest cheddar baked fries or barbecue flavored potato straws.

For sweets I either chew sugarless mint gum or have a peppermint or cinnamon disc.

Arrowroot biscuits or shortbread. Only 3-5 of them though. Used to be the whole sleeve.

To those who mentioned alcohol or cheese - we are kindred spirits! I love all the responses, especially the "recipes." Thanks, for sharing everyone!!!
