Why do they make these???

Sports bras with removable pads! I needed a new sports bra as mine are getting to big and the girls are to bouncy on the elliptical. All I can find are ones with removable pads. I do not know what the benefit of those are. All I know is the removable pads either move out of place, get bunched up, or lost in the washer. I think I am going to try stitching mine in. Does anyone else have this problem?

Pads? As in padded bras, to make boobs look bigger/fuller? Huh, I've never seen sports bras with pads. Gonna keep an eye on this thread and see what comes up.

I would not say padded to make you look bigger. Padded like it is a squarish thing that goes in the cup. I usually get mine at T.J. Maxx

Hmm never seen them, However sports bras with the pocket in them could be useful for women who have had their breast or breasts removed, if the pocket is big enough for their prosthetic.

Haha...WHAT? I've NEVER seen any such thing! Where does one buy a padded sports bra? I just get mine at Gap Body...they have no pads...

I have a cheap Wal-mart sports bra and just wear my normal bra under it. I've seen some padded ones around but I don't think they're removable.

I've seen them, but never used one. I use Dancskin ones from Walmart. I don't remember what they are called, but they are the super non-bounce ones. I love them! They work really well when running and I'm not small so that is good!! I'm not sure I would like the padded ones, they would get super soggy for me at the gym! haha YUCK! haha

I saw those too and kinda wondered what the purpose was. The only reason I could think of was to hide a certain area should the wearer get really chilled and well...ummm...you know....:blushing:

I've never seen a padded sports bra, but I've also had real trouble finding a sports bra that has enough support for anything even slightly bouncy! Best I've come up with so far are the ones designed for wearing for dance - they don't look great under a leotard (mind you, I look pretty awful in a leotard anyhow!), but they're good for practise. Most of my dance class who have a figure now wear them. Try Dance Direct in the overs+unders section if you're in the UK.

I have a large chest and use a compression bra. I like it really tight against me holding them up and in! :) Maybe the padding is so people can't see the nips when they get hard. (Can I say that on MFP?)

I buy them for "extra coverage;" I'm pierced and it's pretty obvious if there isn't some thickness to the bra. I suppose this would be similar for just nipple coverage in general.

I've often wondered the same thing! I see lots of great tops with the build in sports bra {which I prefer} but then there are pads in them...as if I'm concerned about having some cleavage while I'm running, sheesh

Don't even get me started on the low rise, boot cut "fitness" pants I tried on a few weeks back:ohwell:

That might be it...I always have "high beams" ....well until I get warmed up!

I think I have the same ones, they are called High Impact. No bouncy! Yay!

I wish I could find a sport bra with padding. All you young'uns may be unaware, but after you get "older" the girls may not hold their shape under a sports bra, thus looking sorta.. flat. A pad would help them keep a more perky look. (Of course, I just *heard* that!)

I have a few, and the pads are definitely annoying when they move around, and pop out in the wash but....honestly, not all girls who wear sports bras have big breasts...in fact, mine are pretty small (34B and that's pushing it)....a regular, non-padded bra flattens me down to where I look like a 10 year old, lol...and while I don't REALLY care, I'm not at the gym to look sexy, it does make me feel a bit more confident to not look SO flat...not that the padding adds much, it just adds a little more shape so I don't feel so flat. So, I would imagine that those padded sports bras are intented to help us small-chested women, just like Spanx or something like that made to make things look smaller...if you don't have the type of body that requires it, you probably think it's silly - everyone has their little spots that they are self conscious about, and sometimes we need a little help!!

I've found them at Marshalls & TJ Maxx, you might want to check there

I haven't bought any with removable pads, but I do wear ones that are lightly lined. If I get a chill, I can cut glass with those things.

I HATE the removable padding! Padding is great but no need to remove it! I wish it was sewn in as well!

Thats it! Those are the best ones I've tried!

Not just older ladies! I have had saggies since I had my daughter when I was 18. ::grumbles:: I've been rockin' the flat uniboob too.

ive never seen sports bras with padding, and i cant imagine they are too comfortable. im pretty "gifted" in that area, and ive tried sports bras to prevent bouncing but they never helped. I have resorted to a regular bra with a dance leotard over it instead. its been doing the trick for me!

Two of mine have a thin layer, much more comfortable than the one without. Holds em in place better.

I love the little liners because they keep my high beams from being too, ahem, out there. I'm very nipply-lol.

i have one! i love it, definitely one of my favourite sports bras! mind you im barely a Bcup. The pads do fall out in the wash though. I feel like the pads add just a little bit of extra cushioning for when the girls are bouncing around? Maybe the pads dont actually do anything but they do make my boobs look a little better, which makes me feel a little better about myself, so i enjoy my workouts more!

I have one like that too. I wear it under another sports bra. I hate those pad things, they constantly get lost.

This! I like to have coverage from the "high beams" as someone said. Buuuttt, it is annoying that it is not attached! Uugghh!

My take on padded sports bras is perhaps the girls get a little nippy at times and it's to help cover up?

maybe those would be usefull. I am barely an A cup and any sport bra make me look like a 10 years old boy.

I bought a couple of padded bras, mainly because I lost some boobage and my other bras do make me look flat...but the pads always come out, it's very annoying. I have swimsuits that are made the same way.

I wonder if those padded bras could help those of us who are nursing babies and have to use nursing pads?
