I'm not trying to be funny when I say eat less, move more.

There are a bazillion "diet" plans out there each claiming to be the most miraculous thing since the discovery of fire. The reality is that almost all diets fail, people will lose weight in the short term but unless they are making changes that can be sustained for a lifetime any diet is doomed to failure.

Personally, I believe in keeping it simple. Meals with lean proteins, lots of vegetables and fresh fruits for healthy snacks. Bye bye soda (which wasn't much of a sacrifice for me), adios Doritos (I love Cool Ranch ones and have been known to scarf down a big bag in the blink of an eye). Stay well hydrated and start on a fitness plan that fits your current fitness level (and allows you to progress) and consists of activities that you enjoy.

If you need help planning meals consult with a registered dietician and certainly feel free to ask lots of questions on the forums.

^^^ on the money. The only way in my opinion to have permanent weight loss is to change the way you eat and what you eat. All weight loss pills, shakes and plans have the same disclaimer. With proper diet and exercise. Funny thing is, with proper diet and exercise, you'll do just fine without the costly plans and pills. Eat a calorie deficit and exercise. If done right, will guarantee weight loss.

The best diet plan is: never go on a diet. Seems to be working for me.
  • Well what I have found is that "diets" don't work, because eventually you go off a diet and then return to old eating habits. What I have found that does work is, a healthy eating plan, one that covers all the food groups with lots of food high in fiber, high in omega three, and protien with less fat like chicken and fish. Portion control is huge, and then.......and a good exercise plan.
