A digital scale is more accurate because the springs in a dial scale stretch out over time.

What do you mean when you say stretch out?

I've always seen/heard/read that a cheap digital scale is no more accurate, and occasionally less accurate, than a good dial scale. My digital scale is on crack, for no apparent reason, so I log my weight using an older dial scale which is far more consistent and realistic.

I have a very basic dial scale, which has been fine. Wondering if it's worth the investment to buy the kind that can determine body fat %, etc.
  • ehhhh they both suck! :grumble: buuuuuuuuuut if I had to choose, I'd say digital is more accurate.

I got this one off of amazon, and I LOVE it.

Also, fitbit is coming out with the Aria which will most likely connect with their website, and possibly the MFP site as well.
