  • I am not sure on the calories, but have you tried the coffee mug cake.

1 box angel food cake (the kind with one mix, some come with 2 bags you have to mix)
1 box any flavor cake mix (I used devil's food)
Mix these together and keep in an airtight container

When you want one, spray a coffee mug with Pam.
    1/4 cake mix
    2 tablespoons water
    mix well.
    microwave for 1 minute

You can top with Fat Free Cool Whip if you want. :)

Lots of water! It really helps.

I'll have some hot tea and a Fiber One bar.

...And save calories for the end of the night if you know you will eat again.

I try to make it a rule not to eat anything after dinner. If I just tell myself no, sometimes it's enough. Sometimes I just go to bed and try to sleep and pray I don't wake up in the middle of the night. lol

at night - oh boy, am i addicted to sweets. I try super hard to clear my mind of thinking of chocolate, cookies, cake, etc but then that is all i can think about and i will not be happy until i get a piece! any advice on how to override this way of thinking?!

    1. I take Herbalife snack defense
    2. I Brush my teeth so I don't have the urge
    3. I also try not to eat after dinner unless I have to take a medication that I have to eat with.
    and both seem to help.
  • I am a chocoholic! There is no "just one bite" for me! So I bought Fiber One brownies, they have about 90cals, 8g of sugar and I think 3 or 5g of fat. They actually taste like a brownie and the fiber content keeps me feeling full.

Have a bowl of cereal - or even a serving of cereal without milk. Special K Red Berries or the chocolate one are sweet and not too bad for you. A serving of Cocoa Puffs has about 100 calories and almost no fat.

    Gets that chocolate craving out.

a good piece of dark chocolate. I love Dove promises. Serving size is 5 or 6 pieces but i can only eat 1 maybe 2 just enough sweet to satisfy. also, you could try a smoothie like a tart cherry smoothie, sweet and has sleep aid benefits. also, i really like Special K Chocolate cereal. love the little bits of dark choc!

    Cherry Juice 1/4 cup
Almond milk (or reg skim milk) 1/2 cup
    Vanilla extract 1 tsp
Frozen cherries (if you would like) 1/2 cup
    if not frozen add ice.

I even add a little protein powder to it to satisfy hunger.

I have a low cal hot chocolate with a shot of brandy in it most evenings.

The hot choc fixes and sweet craving and the brandy sends me to sleep so I can't eat any more lol

    105 cals too. I like!
  • I find that in the evening, I drink a cup of hot tea with honey or a low fat hot chocolate. If I am in need of crunch, I like the mini Luna bars. They are only 80 calories and if eaten slowly can satisfy.

I love chocolate too. I actually buy chocoloate Chips and measure out a tablespoon and then I eat them one by one. They're like little Hershey kisses and are only 70 calories. You get the same flavor and impact with 1 chip vs 1 kiss and you can eat a lot more of them!

I drink hot chocolate before I go to bed most nights...and not that made with water sugar free stuff. One cup is 150 calories.......if I have more calories than that to eat I will have a sweet cream filled french toast by Ihop that is 210 calories.
  • Try Larabars: They come in a variety of flavors (lemon bar, pecan pie, apple pie, coconut cream pie, chocolate pie, banana cake, etc.)- all natural-organic and really, really good! :drinker:

Try jello and cool whip or one gharadelli chocolate square (with red wine if you drink slowly it keeps your mouth busy for like an hour). Those are my treats :)
  • I heard the Skinny Cow candies are a good low-cal option for when you really really need something sweet. I usually turn to fruit, though. A fresh cup of raspberries is filling and tastes super sweet!

Nothing is like a well made cake or cookie! But I really don't crave those as much anymore...From Dr. Ben Kim's website I got the trick of eating apples when you really crave sweets outside of mealtime. There's sugar, but it's supposedly not enough to mess up your blood sugar at night, and the fiber helps regulate digestion.

I also use hard candy sometimes. Or gum (but I have to be careful because nutrasweet gives me headaches.

I drink a cup of chocolate almond milk before bed. If I have calories left, I'll eat a couple girl scout cookies, too.
  • I usually have sugar free pudding if it's really bothering me, or kettle corn popcorn! that usually does it, those two things, plus they're some of my favorites anyways :)

For a sweet nighttime treat, I like the Double Chocolate Vitatop Muffins. Take it from the freezer, pop in the microwave for a couple of seconds and it is a lovely cake-like treat. The bonus is they are only 100 cals, full of protein and fiber. A healthy indulgence!

I also will have the SF chocolate pudding or Jello and top with a bit of Cool Whip. And every night, hubby and I have chai tea with some creamer. That is often enough to take the edge off.
