I usually only wash my hair every 2-3 days but I often shower twice a day... I usually just condition my hair every time, I don't use anything fancy, just the VO5 stuff, less than a dollar a bottle lol. It works for me, maybe it will help0

I have this problem. Haven't found a solution yet though. If I don't wash it, it looks and feels dirty. If I do it turns mega frizzy because it's dry0

I use the hair one (generic wen) from Sallys. Its suppose to help cleanse as well as condition wihtout drying. It seems to work so far. My hair is still soft.0

Try using a shampoo without sulfates:

Consider a Dry shampoo (can be purchased at a salon or local pharmacy), or use baby powder. Sprinkle a small amount of baby powder into your roots, let it sit for a bit, it will absorb all the excess moisture. Then you can shake your heard to get powder out and you hair will lose the greasy appearance.
Washing your hair everyday isn't healthy on your hair, you need the natural oils to keep your hair healthy. 2-3 times a week is enough.

I use It's a 10 Ten Miracle Leave-In PLUS Keratin - it is an amazing product. Your hair will always feel super soft and look sleek. I use it everyday and my hair is noticeably healthier.0

Try Dry Shampoo for one of those washings.0

I use Deva products which focus on cleansing your *head* while only rinsing or conditioning your hair. I recommend that approach with whatever product you are using.

I'm a hairdresser who also happens to have seriously dry hair. I can't shampoo my hair more than once every 3 days or so unless I want it to start breaking off, so after workouts I use TIGI Rockaholic Dirty Secret dry shampoo. It's a bit pricy and you have to get it at a salon, but it's well worth it. It's saved my hair since I started working out and getting my hair all sweaty every day. I would avoid baby powder and cornstarch as DIY dry shampoos just because they will make your hair look dull and possibly even greyish while they're in your hair.0

I only wash my hair 2-3 times/week because it's dry. I shower and wrap my hair in a towel...it works for me; my hair never feels or smells bad (I guess I'm just lucky?!!) Try wearing a sweatband to absorb moisture. You could try dry shampoos too.0

You should not shampoo your hair daily and especially not twice a day. In addition to drying your hair, it removes a lot of sebum on your scalp and causes higher oil production.
It took a while for me to figure it out but this is basically my regimen:
- I shampoo my hair twice a week. A tip my hairdresser gave me was to shampoo twice during one shower to really clean my hair and remove excess oils.
- I use conditioner once a week on another day. Remember that you shouldn't condition your scalp.
- I use a hair mask/deep conditioner once a week on another day.
- Other than that, I just wash with water if needed.
- I use dry shampoo on days when my hair looks extra shiny.0 -
I shower twice a day, wash my hair in the morning before work (after workout) and condition only after gym, before bed. It works for me. I'm using Aussie Miracle moist shampoo and conditioner, and after washing in the morning a also use maroccan oil. :flowerforyou:
Edited to add: Dont use hair dryer after conditioning in the evening if you can avoid it, makes a hell of a difference.0 -
washing with only conditioner (yes it does work!), not using sulphates or silicones, and using some form of oil (I like coconut) will help keep your moisture levels in tact. I would also try to avoid washing so regularly if you possibly can, or even just doing a cold water rinse on your scalp to remove sweat post-workout.
I have lot of experience with dry hair thanks to genetics, and have seen a lot of success with all of the above. I generally only wash my hair once, maybe twice a week. Thankfully I don't get soggy workout hair!0 -
I use moraccian oil after my shower and my hair has never been better.0

Just to add to everyone that's a fan of the moroccan oil product - get argan oil on ebay, much cheaper than the name branded stuff they're touting in salons, and exactly the same stuff! Loves a bargain I do!0
