What does Bump Mean?

What does Bump mean and why do people do it. There was one topic today where five or six people just put bump, one after the other in their replies and I just don't understand what the point of it is?!

    Bump means that they can get their topic to the top of the list........its done for many different reasons. For instance if I liked your post and thought everyone needed to see it, I would bump it. If I thought that my post was getting lost in the mix and wanted people to respond.......I'd bump it. List goes on and on. Some people on here will tell you that there are "attention seekers" who just want attention. I really don't approve of this as I don't think there are any "attention seekers". They just want to put their opinions and questions out and be heard and responded to.

    Actually it means death...which is caused by pregnancy.

    Just replying in a topic will bump it no matter what you say. Using the word "bump" just relays that you have nothing to add to the topic at the moment and just want to send the thread to the top or add it your topics.
