Body By Vi

i love shakeology and body by vi shape shakes! they're very different from one another, but they're both good in their own ways. i am not a coach or a distributor. i have issues with food, and these products help me get enough calories and protein each day.
i do 2 body by vi shakes a day usually. sometimes i'll do one of each. i do add protein powder to my shakes to get my protein up there. i eat my snacks ( just started doing this though) and i log all of my intake here on MFP. i don't get crazy with mine. i add almond milk and ice cubes, and usually just some vanilla and cinnamon to mask the taste of the whey protein i add. i actually like the body by vi flavor without adding ANYTHING at all. and there is NO NEED to buy the mix ins. they include small samples, but you can add whatever you'd like. sometimes i add frozen fruit instead of ice.
as for shakeology. when i want a chocolate fix, this is the first thing i grab. it's THICK and chocolatey!!! and it totally curbs that craving and fills you up
i highly recommend body by vi. but, if you're doing it as an easy quick fix to lose weight, it probably won't have the affect you're looking for. you still need to be conscious of what you're putting in your body, and you still need to burn off more calories than you consume in order to lose weight. i eat low fat, low carb, and high protein now. i have a beach body coach, and we are doing a body by vi 90 day challenge. i am doing a P90X/ TurboFire hybrid work out program. i work out 7 days a week. in 5 days i dropped 8 inches ( and this was 4 weeks into the program!!!) so, yeah. it all works as long as YOU work too!
good luck!0 -
YOU DO NOT GAIN TH WEIGHT BACK IF YOU EAT PROPERLY! That's the same as any diet you follow! I love it! OMG yes people I am on it.... And my shakes are awesome and please don't argue with me..I wont listen........................Body By Vi!!! :drinker:
^ Hahaha!! Exactly!! Living the Vi-Life!0 -
I started on Body By Vi at the beginning of January. I was looking for something that would help me start eating properly again, This is my third time losing weight on MFP, I have a really hard time getting past a certain weight. I always seem to give up for some reason. Anyway, I really like the shakes they taste great and there are tons of different recipes floating around that you can use. I have lost 13 pounds and 11.5 inches since the beginning of January. I have also been doing a 30 day exercise program and healthy meals too. I'm not sure how much weight loss I can attribute to the shakes.
For me they are a great way to get in some more nutrition. I run a daycare and get about 2 minutes a day for lunch/breakfast. Someday's I will have 2 shakes a day, someday;s only 1. I like the convenience and they do taste good. I don't see it as a quick fix, I know how to eat healthy meals, sometimes it's just too much work so these shakes really help. Hopefully I didn't ramble too much there! LOL0 -
hey guys
i have been doing it for a month now too and I LOVE IT!!!! there are soooo many delicious ways to make it taste different every day so you dont get sick of it! Id love to swap recipies with anyone who wants too0 -
I love my Body by Vi! I was one that didn't believe in it at first as I was on a different program and didn't buy into it at first. Then I did my own research and finally signed up. I have lost 16 pounds and weigh less now that I did over 10 years ago. I have so much energy, which is phenomenal considering I have 4 kids my own and run a home daycare. For those of you that are concerned that you will gain weight back, with our 3 for free program, you can eat healthy and nutritiously for FREE so why would you ever go back to eating poorly? it is a lifestyle change, it is not a yo-yo diet where you lose the weight then stop. If you are dieting to that degree, you will always fail. Body by Vi is amazing!0

Just getting a protein powder is not necessarily the best for you. The Body by Vi shakes are formulated with a tri-sorb protein blend. Sadly many protein shakes may have 24g of protein in them, but it is not a healthy protein. Not to mention the fact that the BBV shakes are packed with more nutrition than we ever consume in one sitting and our bodies need it.0
-
Why not just get a protein powder? Can get one for 3g of carbs or less, double the protein, and a lot cheaper.

Questions
My wife is actually starting this in the morning. I'm going to sample a few shakes....
If you use this as a replacement meal, at only 90 calories a serving, won't you end up way below your MFP goals and won't that put your body into starvation mode? I'm new here so a tad clueless about everything, so any thoughts on this would be appreciated.0 -

Don't you mix them with milk or something to give it extra calories? Is it meant to replace 3 meals and thats all you have for the day? If so then it does sound like it wouldn't be enough calories in a day.0 -

it's 90 calories unmixed. after I mix mine with milk & frozen fruit etc....It's about 200 or more.
Mix with Skim or Almond milk, add fresh fruit, frozen fruit, no-fat yogurt etc.
Replace 2 meals with a Vi-Shake, and eat a sensible 3rd meal.
If you need any other advise etc, feel free to add me
Good luck to you!0 -
Thanks! That makes more sense....so basically I'll get the calories by adding in milk, etc, but get the nutrients I need since I normally skip breakfast and lunch is hit or miss for me.....0

You got it! I used to skip breakfast & lunch too, not a good idea.
You are more then welcome, if you ever have any questions feel free to msg me or add0 -
I was famous for skipping meals so I have a shake every morning in place of breakfast and I love them...they taste great & keep me full until mid morning when I have a small snack. My shakes are normally between 200-240 calories.0

7 pounds in 2 weeks! WOW have you been working out also? how often? I'm currently thinking on trying that product...0

I've been doing the Body by Vi challenge since mid January and have lost 18 pounds and 11 inches. I do 2 shakes a day, my husband does 1. He never eats breakfast and I told him he needs to try it. Well, surprising me, he loves them! He doesn't need to loose weight so I'll mix his different from mine...real chocolate syrup with peanut butter he loves, where I prefer the frozen fruit or low cal sherbert. He says he has a lot more energy now.
When I get to where I want to be, I'll switch to 1 a day to maintain my weight while getting lots of nutrients and keep my healthy eating habits. I love them and highly recommend them to anyone...resulting in a few of my friends now on them too. Most of them are on it to replace breakfast not loose weight...why is it we have a hard time with the first meal of the day? Nothing wrong with doing shakes for the rest of your life, especially if they taste great. Heck, even doctors recommend them!0 -

I have been using the body by vi products since Oct 20 I have lost 43 lbs and 19 inches
I love the product I need to see results fast or I will not continue on this new lifestyle change
I make my shakes with ½ cup of Almond milk and ½ cup of Pom Juice with spinach0 -
well a lot of the men and women at my job are using body by vi i dont know the cost would like to know though and well they are losing weight quickly
i use the body by vi shakes, I use 2 scoops per shake and drink two a day, They are high (at least for me) $99 gets you two bags of shake mix and a cpouple of flavors packets. I have been doing this for 6 weeks and have lost 15 pounds, all except the last two week were without exercise, but recently joined a gym to remedy that.l If you want only one shake a day you can get by with only one bag a month which is 49. per month.0 -

Also, if you get three people a month to order from you...yours is free, I havent been aggressive like that...but it is an option0 -
Instead of buying the "mix ins" for visalus, try using the sugar free flavored pudding mixes! They are great!! I just love a few fresh rasberries and the Sugar Free Cheesecake Pudding mix. I only use a teaspoon and it is great!! Much cheaper than the mix ins and taster GREAT!0
-
I love my Visalus shakes! I only drink 1 a day though and mostly for the health benefits, not the weight loss. I've been using it since January 2011. It tastes amazing and is SO full of vitamins! We use a blender and mix ours with milk, a water flavor, and frozen fruit. It's SO good! I have been drinking them for over a year and am not tired of them yet!0

I've been drinking one shake a day for almost a month now. They are really yummy and along with watching my calories all day, I am steadily losing weight. The reason I got them is just for the convenience. I usually eat either a protien bar or oats for breakfast. At lunch I have a shake and then eat dinner with my family in the evening. I say go for it0
-
I tried it... I am also thinking of either Herbalife or Visalus again.. Tasted both of them... Herbalife Cookies and Cream has 5g of sugar. Thats not bad compared at the price either. My personal trainer said that 5g of sugar isnot bad at all especially if it taste good which it does. Visalus is $49 and the flavor is cake mix. For that one I know I wont like it by itself so I will have to buy the mix ins... Thats $10 more.. So im lost too. LOL...
But I can say that Visalus is good but youll have to add something in there unless you are just using it as a protein drink..
They actually mail you 10 free sample mix'ins with every order. I currently have a cupboard collecting them because I prefer the vanilla. Just an FYI.
I don't understand why people gain weight when they come off the shakes too. If you're staying within your daily calorie limit then there shouldn't be an issue. The shakes are just an easy way to stay full, get your nutrients, and stay within your calories.

I like this make it yourself way. It sounds easy and provides nutrition we all need.0

I have never heard of this stuff. I don't get it. Is this the new millenniums version of Slim Fast? I know that doesn't work long term. Is this different? Can you use it as an after workout meal? I'm lost! LOL!0
-
I am seriously considering starting this program however, I would like to hear form people who haven't had that much weight to lose, who wanted to tone up. Thanks in advance for your responses!0

Try Shakeology! I lost 20 pounds in 5 months with the Chocolate shake and working out 4 times a week. I'm down to s size 8 now!
lol. Beachbody coach?
Not everyone that drinks Shakeology is a BB coach. I'm not a coach and like it a lot. I don't think it's necessarily for weight loss, just a tasty meal replacement shake for when you need something fast and easy.
I just started it and I am not a coach.0 -
I have been using Oxyelite Pro for 2 weeks and have lost 5 lbs and 1 inch off my waist. I have been using EAS Lean Protien (1 a day) because when you use a thermogenic you need to get in extra protien to keep muscle. I have been doing 30 mins cardio everyday (treadmill or elliptical) and using this site to watch what I eat.0
