Naptime

I got into the habit of taking a mid afternoon/prevening nap as I need quite a lot of sleep and even with a nap in the daytime, I can still sleep for 10 hours at night!
I'm trying to wean myself off naps though, because I think I started to need and rely on them, which is all well and good during university, but when I'm working full time, I don't think I'll be able to get through the day!
Just wondering, are they actually beneficial, or are they at all harmful? What're your thoughts and opinions?
Edit - I'm actually posting this to try to keep myself awake - my eyes are killing and struggling to stay open! It's only 4.55pm!

I don't know, I think so, I'm always just about at my calorie allowance (1260). I'm just always tired, especially when it gets to late afternoon, early evening time!0
