What is a nice butt??

Ok... kind of a weird question. But I like my butt. It's on the bigger side, I suppose. I keep looking at lower body workouts and they all say they will get you a "tighter" more "toned" butt. Are hard, toned butts attractive? I don't really want it to be hard....

Now I'm kind of scared to start doing strength workouts... lol... am I just being silly? What will lower body workouts (squats, lunges etc) do to my bum?? I thought they would just lift it and make it rounder.

A nice butt is one you wanna bite!

You will not get a hard butt. I've felt up some really nice ones, like super model awesome fit butts. And, they aren't hard. They are still soft and buttery. So, tone it up.

Depends on what your butt looks like naturally. Mine is naturally perky and big and I don't do any targeted butt exercises.
If you like yours, don' fix what ain't broke!

Honestly, I do a ton of squats, lunges, and resistance lower-body training, and my butt hasn't lost it's softness. It's pretty perky, though, and is a lot higher, because the gluteus muscles tone up, but there's still plenty of bounce there, haha. You won't get some weird, rock-hard butt just by adding some targeted exercises, promise.

Also, everyone told me to lower case the IMG on both sides when you copy & paste on MFP forums

When I was at or near my goal weight some years ago, strength training made my butt bigger. Without it, I didn't really have a "natural" butt (my family tends to be genetically buttless), But the more strength training I did, the more of a butt I developed. It wasn't as soft as my previous flabby non-butt, but it was plenty soft enough for all butt-related softness purposes.

After shedding over 130 pounds, and with the help of lots and lots of squats, I'm pretty happy with mine:

Wow girl! I just had to say you are truly inspiration to me! :) Your butt looks amazing!!! Actually, your whole body look amazing!
I am at your picture #1 and I have been discouraging myself and thinking I'll never have a nice butt because having kids flattens your butt, etc.
    THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

It won't make your butt hard. More like firm, as in less cellulite! It will lift it up and round it out. My butt has actually gotten a little bigger since working out, and I like it!

Same with me. I have actually always had a pretty small butt, but I've started working on it lately. It is bigger, higher and more round now but it is still soft. My friend described it as "juicy" last night :) Doing squats, lunges etc. will help get rid of cellulite and fat under the butt but you won't lose your "juiciness" :)

My butt is slightly firmer, perkier, and rounder. There's still plenty to grab onto. I still have a long way to go though.

I consider a butt great when it has a nice roundness to it, some mass, but the mass comes from muscle, not fat, so it is not lumpy. I have built my butt some- originally had none to speak of. Doing weighted squats and lunges have been a miracle! It is still soft though.

I love mine! I was a size 18 and now a 10, first thing I lost was my butt. Still have a great shape if I say so myself! :). ***to scared to post a "real" pic after seeing some things on the forum this week. Lol
