There are multiple sources of data that say the timing of nutrition in a 24 hour period is of only minor importance and secondary to the overall intake and comosition. So, in plain language, if your eating enough every day and getting the right mix od macronutrients, it don't matter what time of day you get them. What you are doing is working for you so go with it!

I absolutely can not eat breakfast. I'll drink a cup of coffee as soon as I wake up, but I don't eat until about noon-1230 and that's a breakfast/lunch meal, my egg and cheese sandwich. That being said, I'm usually working until noon so around 11 AM I get REALLY hungry, so what I've started doing the past week to avoid feeling SO hungry, is taking a ziplok bag of fruit with me and try to eat it on my drive to work, sometimes I finish it, most times I don't. When I am able to finish the piece of fruit, I notice I'm not hungry until noon ish..
  • I don't like eating breakfast.
If I eat breakfast, chances are I eat too much during the day. I don't know why, but eating breakfast makes me more hungry, more often... so I like to just have a cup or two of coffee/tea and wait 'till lunch.

Some mornings I wake up and I'm hungry, so I eat.. but for the most part, I skip it.

Is there a reason why you feel sick in the mornings? I mean, a medical reason? If not, then the trouble you have with breakfast is likely because you've trained your body to do without it.

It's not that hard to change that *hunger clock.* A couple days of disciplined eating--eating breakfast no matter what--will usually fix things. I need to do this with my late night snacking, by the way, because I always get hungry then.

Otherwise, if eating breakfast makes you more hungry, it may be because your metabolism is moving a bit faster. But I also agree with the tone of most of the posts here. It may not be a big deal. If you hit a dead end with weight loss, then consider breakfast Plan 2.

    P.S. My breakfasts are giant.

I use to be a person who could not consider having breakfast but... I started slowly by nibbling on saltines and eventually I have worked myself up to having a banana. I felt eating breakfast was important because I exercise in the morning and know it's better to have something to fuel your body before working out for an hour.

When i started MFP i hated breakfast, now i can't function without it. It definitely keeps me from binging throughout the day. I used to be nauseated at the thought of eating first thing, but now i wake up with my stomach growling. It only took about 3 days of breakfast for my body to crave it. Try it for a few days, if it works for you stick with it, but if it doesn't that's cool too. For instance today, i didn't eat breakfast, and basically i binged during lunch because i was starving and didn't eat the best foods (i ate pancakes with butter and syrup, hashbrown casserole and some coffee cake -smh- It doesn't help that i work at cracker barrel on the weekends). Usually if i start with a healthy meal it's a lot easier for me to stick with healthy choices for the rest of the day.

I have never really been a breakfast person. It has always been my least favorite meal. My stomach is way more sensitive in the morning so I'm pretty limited in what I can eat. Lately instead of fighting it I've just been listening to my body and not eating a big breakfast. I usually eat a banana and maybe some other fruit, I have tea and some water. Then I usually don't eat more until lunch. I still eat pretty much the same amount of calories in a day, I just eat most of them at dinner. And for me, I don't feel hungry in the morning and I actually have more focus and energy. I think it's bc I don't have the blood sugar spike and then crash. I've also noticed that since I've been doing this, my afternoon cravings for junk food have pretty much gone away. It's really weird. I almost feel like this is too easy now. I don't really know why it makes such a big difference for me, but I've felt better than ever.

I've tried to look this up online, and here is some info I found out about it that makes some sense to me:

    http://www.theiflife.com/the-2-meal-philosophy/

The blog is about intermittent fasting, where some people don't eat anything for a day or two out of the week. I don't eat like that, I just don't eat breakfast. So please no one jump on me for that link, I just thought what he wrote about skipping breakfast was interesting.

Basically, I just think everyone is different. Some people probably need breakfast, others don't.

Most people on the board quote someone and reply to them in the same post.
