Weighing and Measuring Food

When should you weigh and when should you measure foods? Not to be completely stupid, and I am sure the answer is simple but I am stumped. Foods are marked as ounces. How can you tell which to do? I understand you measure liquids and weigh chicken and beef but what about stuff like nuts?

  • Weighing is almost always going to be more accurate than measuring. If you can't weigh, then measure. Otherwise, always weigh.

I weighed everything until I understood true portion size. I love my food scale.
