Getting dressed while wearing a towel

You know that awkward style of changing clothes underneath a towel that can be seen happening on the beach sometimes? (At least here in Sweden :) I see that happening sometimes at the local gym, and I can't help but wonder why. I understand that many people aren't pleased with their bodies and maybe want to try and hide them, but it's really worth the effort?

The girls I've seen doing it makes it look really awkward. Getting dressed after showering takes them about 10 minutes, and at the end they're almost ripping their clothes in desperation because they want it over with! And today was the first time I ever saw someone wear a towel while changing from regular clothes to gym clothes.

I don't know, I've been into sports involving changing clothes and showering at the same time as other people for 10 years now, maybe it's just that I've grown tired of thinking the whole nudity thing is awkward.

I'm not judging anyone for using the "towel method", I'm just curious and want to try and understand you. And I'm shy and don't have the guts to ask the people at my gym why they do it, plus I'm not that strong if they would decide to punch me :)

When I was in high school choir, I spent many a bus rides mastering the art of changing clothes under clothes, but never did it with a towel. Now?? Go ahead and look at the girls, I don't care LOL!!

I figure that in a women's locker room, I may as well just turn around so I'm not giving anyone a view of something that will give them nightmares later, but I don't worry about being covered up. Undies on quickly. Bra on quickly. Then the rest of it, who cares?
As for at the beach, I'd rather just put the towel on the car seat and a baggie shirt over the swimsuit and drive home...

I have always been nervous about changing in a locker room. I've never done it by the locker but go into the bathroom stall and change. The YMCA has huge stalls with plenty of room for it that are just for changing out a bathing suit or whatever. I don't mind people seeing my junk but I have such a process for changing and people being able to see makes it so awkward LOL.

I was walking around my house THIS MORNING in my towel. I bent over to pick up something and my dog apparenlty thought he would sniff my butt at the same time. Akward?

Better than the opposite. When I used to have a gym membership there were guys who would spend 20-30 minutes sitting naked in the locker-room. I'm glad you are proud sir, but no one wants to see that.

I am a towel changer! I am not proud of the way I look... and the girl that is usually in the locker room with me is a tiny little thing - so I am embarrased, I admit it! Now... when I get down to a size/shape I am comfortable with, I don't think I will worry about it to much!

I don't strip down naked without a towel. What I do is take my shirt off, and then turn away from the crowd, or face a locker, while I take my bra off. Then I wrap the towel around my torso and go at my pants. When I get dressed, I go in reverse - undies, pants, take towel off, face away, put my bra on then shirt.
