I flew overseas last month, the first time for a plane ride since losing 130#. No extender, even had some extra to spare. Was actually comfortable, for the most part, the entire 9 hour flight.
If nothing else motivates that sure as heck did.
I actually planning another vacation just because that stoked me so much...This time is a beach vaca.0 -
trying to fit more comfortably on a plane
HA! Nice to see I am not the only one using this as motivation. Last July I had to fly from Seattle to Dallas and I felt terrible for the folks that had to sit next to me. It was a smaller plane and it was embarrassing. I thought they might ask me to stand in the middle aisle until after take off just to be sure the plane was balanced correctly. I started the journey to get myself back in shape the very next day.0 -

Height: 6-1
Start weight: 390
Current: 359
Highest weight: 410
T-Shirt size before: 5X or 6X
After/during: Smaller (need new clothes)
Jean before: 58 worn baggy.
After/during: They're way baggy now, but haven't gotten new ones.
Goal weight: 225 lbs. Haven't been there since probably 5th or 6th grade.0 -
Never reached 400 but was pretty close
Height - 6'2
Start weight - 350+ (lost a bit before I first recorded it)
Current - 237
TShirt size before 4XL
After/during - XL
Jean before - 50
After/during - 42 (although I think I will need a 40 in a few weeks)
Goal is 200, although I would be happy with 210. Would like to get in to the 30's in terms of waist and as long as I can shop at regular shops I don't mind what the T-Shirt size is, L would be fine.
I should say I'm in the UK and sizes are a little smaller here. So an XL here would roughly be the same as an L in the US.0 -
Height - 6'1
Start weight - 560
Current - 257
TShirt size before 7/8 X
After/during - 2 X but still wear 3X to workout in..
Jean before - 78 inch waist
After/during - 36-38 inch waist
Goal is another 20 lbs. off then skin surgery will take another 20-25 lbs. off so I should be around 210 lbs. ish at my goal weight...0 -
Height - 6' 6"
Start Weight- 321 lbs.
Current Weight- 234 lbs.
Start Shirt SIze- XXXLT
Current Size- LT
Start Jean Size- 44 waist
Current Jean Size- 34 waist
Goal now is to put on muscle....10-12 pounds, then shred back down to 235-240.....0 -
Height - 6'3
Start weight - 480's I never got an exact measurement. Doctor had to use counter weights. I was close to 500 lbs.
Current - 313 goal is for 200-220 range. lowest I ever got down to was during my junior year in high school, I was 237.
TShirt size before 5/6 xlt
After/during - at the moment 2XLT. I have found some brands that fit that are 2XL. I still mostly stick to big & tall since I hate lifting my arms over my head and flashing the ol' belly button
Jean before - 56-30
After/during - 44/42-32 It's werid for me. 44's are getting too loose I need a belt. 42 are just a wee bit tight. I can squeeze into them but it's tight. It just depends on the brand. I defintely can't fit into slim. I have tree trunks for legs.
my weight loss has slowed down alot. I used to average 10-15 lbs a month but now I average 5-6 lbs. I am in no rush. I'll get there when I get there.0 -
I just started on here i am 6'3" and i am around 400 pounds so all these stories are of great help and inspiration to me.
Shirt size is 3/4xlt
Pants size is 52/32
current goal weight is to be under 300 and then from there decide where i need to go from there.0 -
I should say I'm in the UK and sizes are a little smaller here. So an XL here would roughly be the same as an L in the US.
Yikes!
Don't change your body...just change the label. That's pretty much where we are at right now in this country.0 -
Age: 35
Height: 6'2"
Starting Weight: 5/6/12 - 436 lbs.
This morning: 8/4/12 - 375 lbs.
41 pounds lost so far.
I picked the "Lose 2 pounds per week" plan. Lately, I have been losing 4 or 5 per week.
MFP starting calories around 2700 per day
Have weened myself down to 1900 per day
Surprisingly, I can be satisfied with only eating 1900 calories per day. It's all a matter of picking the right foods. I have been making allot of homemade soups. They really fill me up, which is good, because I still have a big appetite. I have even had days where I came in a hundred calories under.
I have started taking Sunday as sort of a cheat day. It's typically when I get together with family and end up having a big meal. I don't go crazy, but I do let myself go over a bit. I hasn't hurt me yet.
If you are interested, feel free to add me. Thanks!0 -
