sports bra advice

I have had a ton of trouble with bras and working out. i actually had cuts on the bottom of my breasts from the bras rubbing. now i use one full support underwire bra, i put a sportsbra over top of that. that tends to hold them down. but there is still some rubbing. so i bought body glide- i put it on under my breasts and then put on the bras and now i finally have no issues.0

36D and moving comfort fiona bra is amazing. I used to do the bra then sports bra trick but god damn do those dig in. After doing a ton of research, I found that the best thing is to have each breast encapsulated, because it protects the "root" tissue (I believe that's the term they use) from breaking down, whereas bras that just hold your breasts as one mass (tubeboob) actually allow the the breast tissue to damage more at the base, eventually possibly leading to tissue degradation and saggy boobs. I got the white one on amazon on sale to try it out (blah white) for $28, before splurging on pretty colors, but I'd say it's worth it. The straps are also pretty awesome with quick-adjust velcro in the front so you can actually reach it.
Good luck!0 -
I really like the Champion compression bra. They sometimes have them at Target.0

My absolute favorite (I'm a 40DD) is Fiona from Moving Comfort. I got mine on amazon for like 28 bucks, and it's brilliant. When I first got it I felt it and had no hope what so ever...it seems flimsy...no underwire, etc...but omg it works amazingly well!
edited to add: I almost always (used to) wear 2...but that one I only need the one...Highly Highly reccomend

I like the selection at sports authority. IMO you need to spend at least 50$, a good sports bra for someone bustier than average is pricey.0

Also wearing two seems to help some women.0

I'm 38F - I wear Shock absorbers and get no bounce at all - love it!
Mine is getting old now, but still just as supportive
Thinking of getting a new one - http://www.sweatybetty.com/shock-absorber-run-bra-prod5044_blacksilver/0 -
Lululemon Ta Ta Tamer!! The only bra I can wear that supports me enough for any activity... I'm a busty 34D for reference.0

if you are in the UK, i recommend Shock Absorber bras. Im a 40F/38G and am extremely sporty... these bras are AMAZING, i haven't knocked myself out yet with a boob bounce so they work can be fairly expensive, i usually get mine off ebay, or when they are at a reduced price and get 3 or 4 at once lol0

Are you talking about the originl Tata Tamer or the Tata Tamer II? I really, really need to get a bra I can run in and they look good, but I haven't heard any comments about them. Do you know if they come in a 30DD or 30E?0 -

I like Moving Comfort Maia for running, I do have the Fiona too. Off to check out Enell0

I'm a 42D. When I work out I wear one of those 18 hour playtex bras with a sports bra over it. best support I've ever felt working out0

I really recommend you get fitted at Nordstrom, Macy's, etc by a fit specialist. I always find good ones at Nordstrom. Most women wear the wrong size bra, and we're supposed to get fitted every 6 months!
Because they're pricey, I might buy just one and look for more on eBay. The brand I currently use is Wacoal. I hate their regular bras, but the sports ones give me lots of support during activity!
I second this post!!! Also, BIGGERBRAS.COM0 -

I agree! I'm a 38DD and I love the Fiona! they most definitely keep the ladies in place for running, jumping jacks, whatever and the are super comfy too!0 -
Ooo-ooo! I KNOW this one!!!!
I too am a 38DD and don't like knocking myself out when doing cardio exercises.
BEST BRA ON THE PLANET!!!!!!!!!!! The Shock Absorber. (Not kidding.) I wear their high impact running bra and love it!! My girls do NOT move, barely bounce, and aren't squished to death. The back is adjustable so as you lose weight you can keep tightening it.
They are a bit pricey compared to other bras. However, I seriously tried every brand and nothing actually works for big-busted ladies. They say they're for big boobs but they lie.
I got mine on Amazon for less but here is their website:http://www.shockabsorberusa.com/
And here is the link to the actual bra I wear, the Run Bra Top B5044: http://www.shockabsorberusa.com/details.php?prodId=44&category=&secondary=&keywords=
BUY THIS! It's changed my life. Well, my exercising life. Good luck!0 -
I wear the LuLuLemon Ta Ta Tamer. http://shop.lululemon.com/products/clothes-accessories/women-sports-bras/Ta-Ta-Tamer-II-31110?cc=4350&skuId=3417008&catId=uswwearit1
I also have worn the Champion: http://www.championusa.com/workout-clothes/sports-bras-43553--1/maximum-support-bras/champion-double-dry--153;-spot-comfort--153;-full-support-sports-bra
LOVE both of these bras, but especially the lululemon!0 -
Honestly I havent found anything that works yet but wearing multiple ones at the same time. I do not have any underwire sportbras but do wear more than one at a time for support.
^^^^^^ Not from personal experience, but my big busted friend swears by this too. She wears two sports bras at once. She's so "busted" she has actually gotten a reduction recently too. So I would trust her judgement on this one!!0 -
I'm putting in a vote for the Lululemon Ta Ta Tamer0

When I had a larger chest I found wearing a sports bra and a workout top (one that compresses all over) was really helpful and comfortable! It eliminates a lot of the bounce and its like wearing multiple sports bras but less bulky around the chest area. I got my compression tank top at Sears, so it doesn't have to be expensive.0

I also recommend Freya and Panache Sport. The Panache feels better than any of my regular bras! And the straps convert from regular to racing back. And I read on some tata site that you shouldn't wear bras that you can pull over your head. If it is big enough to go around your shoulders it is too big to be supportive of your girls. So I always get bras that have a clasp. I'm a 34-36DDD, FWIW.0

I double or triple up. Although I'm down to a D, now! I wear wireless sports bra, with a shelf style shirt with built in bra. Seriously helps.0

Lululemon's "cross my heart " sports bra is amazingly supportive. I highly recommend it! It's "ta-ta tamer" is also really great.0

I forgot to say... I am a 34 HH--- in the tata tamer (or ta ta tamer II) I have ordered the 36DD and it works for what I need. Same with the Champion--- I go up a size (to a 36) and get the biggest cup size they have.0 -
Duct tape maybe?0

Right now, since I am losing weight, I buy the cheapies that come in 2 packs at Wal-Mart or Target. I always wear two bras at a time when training. It works for me, and I do a lot of jumping jacks and hops.
im a 34 D
i actually like the ones from target the best
i like these the best
C9 by Champion® Womens Seamless Racerback Bra - Assorted Colors
but you need to get a size smaller then you think like i use a medium and it squishes my breasts to my chest, but it works wonderfully, the other thing is that if they do stretch out a little then just use 2 bras
i have a variety of colors and they make me feel pretty lol0 -
Duct tape maybe?
good idea0 -
try the CWX brand bra, i'm a 36D and like you have a hard time finding a bra that holds me good, so i can jogg. i used to wear two bras to hold me a 34D underneath a regular sports bra. now with the CWX I only wear that one bra, it's amazing. try your local running store, they'll put a personal touch to fitting you, if not you can order on line.0

I wear two bras. I usually wear a regular supportive bra (such as the body by victoria secret) and then the champion high impact or max impact support bras. I still get "chaffing" but you really can't help that. I was told to use talc powder but it's kind of interruptive to get to the powder room at a gym and literally "powder up". I'm a 36D 34DD for reference. I was larger but my boobs have started to shrink.0
