Have any of you ever felt so pissed off with how hard your working and there's just no change on the darn scales? It's getting to me soooo bad because I have not changed anything I'm
Working out and I just don't no what's going on?
Is this a normal thing to happen when dieting or am I seriously doing this whole thing wrong?
It's getting to me that much I'm ready to just give up and be fat forever because trying and not getting anywhere :-(

First of all, give yourself a pat on the back, you've lost 9 kgs already
It's normal to plateau... sometimes you will not lose weight for a few weeks then all of a sudden lose a few lbs in one week, our bodies are strange.
Secondly, I can't see your food diary so I can't make a guess on whats' up... but ask yourself a few questions:
are you eating enough? (or too much?)
are you switching up your exercise routine? are you still challenging your body?
what are you eating? (sodium will put on water weight)
are you losing inches?0 -

I dont know how kg is compared to in lbs, but anyway congratulations on the loss....I have come to realize that my body is getting tired of the same exercise, so I am trying a NEW completely different exercise to SHOCK my body!! Hope that helps!0 -
1) patience.
2) measure yourself
3) toss the scale out
4) how do YOU feel? how do clothes fit?
5) patience
9 KGs? that 19.8 lbs. lets round it up to 20 lbs. so I am going by your join date Jan 2012. that's 2½ months which equals out to...12 weeks? that's 1.6 lbs. loss a week on average. ideal and healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs a week unless you are really big (like me) I have plateau'd in the past for 3 months. I didn't get discouraged. you'll get through keep it up. :flowerforyou:0 -
Echoing Kekl's questions....
I gained a pound in the last week, but in the past two weeks I've lost inches off my waist.
Keep up the great work 9 kg is awesome!0 -
Thanks guys. Maybe I'm not eating enough??? I've been told so may different numbers to put as my calorie goal so at the moment it's at 1500. I'm 93.7kgs at the moment (not sure how much that is in pounds though) And yep I swap my excercise everyday. I lost it so quick in the beginning and not seeing and improvement is driving me mad. Yes I've measured and lost inches and my clothes are a little bit looser, but for some reason that's not good enough...I don't no why :-( thankyou all for your support and amazing words...it's good to talk to people that "don't hear me whinging everyday about it"

And meaning that i may not eat enough...I'm eating on average 1000-1200 calories a day and burning on average 500-600 calories a day x0

See...that's just frustrating...amazing that you've lost inches but what can't the bloody scales proove something haha. They do say muscle weighs more than fat I guess.
Thankyou xxx0 -

I'll be at beginning of week 8 as of Monday. When will I start to kick back in again or is there something I should be doing to make it happen? Sorry i no i probably sound dumb but this is the first real diet ive done and I'm still struggling to learn everything about oh after 7 weeks of doing it.0 -

Yep pretty much. But I don't see the logic in eating back the calories I've burnt off?0 -
I'm a bit OCD about the scale. My first 6 weeks I weighed myself every morning and lost something, even a couple of ounces and it was extremely motivational to me to see any loss, however, I stopped losing weeks 7 & 8 and started getting extremely frustrated.
I began questioning if what I was doing was right, which led me to a weak moment where I ate junk the entire day... I was ready to give up because I figured I couldn't lose and actually noticed a gain of 1 lb which got me even more frustrated!! I logged on here and posted something similar to what you did, and the next day I got right back on track and I am finally back to losing again. But that 2 week standstill was really tough on me. Don't give up on yourself, and like someone else said, take measurements because I noticed that even in those 2 weeks I lost nothing, I DID lose inches! Good luck!0 -
I think with all the exercise you may not be eating enough .Have a look at this it helped me x

Haha me to, it's like as soon as I open my eyes it's off to the loo then the scales and to see no loss just puts me in a down mood the whole day. Ok well I'm at week 7 now so maybe it's the 7th week curse haha. I haven't had the erge to eat crap because I'm
Down about it that would just make me feel disappointed in myself because I'm trying so hard. Thankyou for posting I really appreciate it and hopefully I come good again soon x0 -

this will explain it. but to sum it up, your body is figting to hold on to everything you are giving it. eat more.0 -
I was there for the past 2 -3 weeks. In fact I gained 2 lbs, but I did started a new fitness program so I figured that was part of it. Finally today the scale went down. I started doing measurements last week so I can track my progess that way ( still weigh myself ever morning though). Just stick with is and take measurements.0

Well it's funny you say that, cause in the past week ive been doing boxing everyday about 40-70 mins per day and I have thought to myself that maybe that's why? Congratulaions on your loss, I bet you were so relieved. Are you still continuing with the same exercise or did you stop seeing as you weren't loosing? Thanks :-) good luck to you also x0 -
Don't know if anyone has mentioned it or not but I notice plateau on days where my water intake is low - especially on the weekends when out and about. Perhaps a overall increase in water and sodium reduction. If i don't hydrate enough after a workout my scale lets me know. Also try swapping out foods you may be eating routinely so that your body can process different nutrients. Ever notice how weight comes off after we splurge sometimes? And like everyone else mentioned - patience is key. Working out is always a wonderful treat for mind, body and spirit. Enjoy it and continue moving forward!0

It's changed my intake to 1430 calories a day. So does thy mean I have to eat ALL of them? And when I work out what do I do with those calories...?0 -

Great thanks. I'll check it out now.0 -
Ah. Don't worry. I still go by what my scale says, even though people always tell me not to.
And I bumped my calorie intake from 1200 to 1450. It's been very good for me.0 -
do you have a heart rate monitor? is the exercise calorie you say of 500-600 accurate because thats quite a lot. Are you absolutely sure thats how many calories you are burning.0

I do alot of my exercise using the Nintendo wii-which counts my calories and then I put it into my diary and it calculates the exact amount that the wii said. I am doing alot of excercise so really it's not that much. I thought I wasn't doing enough seeing some people on here burn around 1000 a day.0 -

Its hard not to go by the scales hey Well I red up on something that someone posted on here for me to read...and I've followed what was said on it and I've gone up to 1430 now so hopefully there's a change.0 -
I'm dealing with the same thing. I lost a few pounds right off, but now it's been unchanged and even up slightly. From what I've read on here, I'm going with the theory that I haven't been eating enough and so my body is hanging onto what it's got--starvation mode, in other words.
I'm going to try a calorie increase too, let's hope it works!0
