Eating 5x a day...

Hello All! :)

I want to try to snack on something at least 5x a day, but I only have enough calories for 4 so far... lol! What are your favorite healthy, yummy, low-cal snacks? :)

    celery & PB, cucumber, small muffines (I make them with no sugar and egg whites, really low cal about 150), 1% cottage cheese, fruit smoothies, yogurt, 1% chocolate milk, hummus, ryvita crackers, there is an endless possibility!!! I eat 5 times a day, three meals (small) and snacks in between.

    I snack on veggies (cucumber, jicama, carrots, broccoli), string cheese, blueberries, bananas...generally try to keep my snacks under 100 calories, but if I go over, I adjust for the rest of the day

    I eat 6 times a day. So even my meals are pretty small. I like to snack on carrots, low-fat string cheese, apples, almonds, low-fat or fat free jello. Good sutff and guilt free! You can even go for some plain greek yogurt and put some berries in there.

    Don't limit yourself to one way or the other.....some days I don't eat until one o'clock, and I'll eat 700 calories then.

    Some days I eat three 500 cal meals.

    Some days I graze all day.

    I often eat 600+ calories right before bed.


    It becomes very difficult to regiment yourself into a set pattern. It can seem like failure whenever you step outside those "rules."

    Most important is : stay in your calorie range and try to hit your recommendations for macros.

    I like to have yogurt, fiber one bars, veggie chips.....I love the veggie chips. I also like to snack on almonds.

    I eat 5 meals a day. Some of my snacks are
    cottage cheese with fruit
    veggies with hummus
    edename
    apples with peanut butter
    cheese and crackers
    homemade muffins or granola bars

    I eat at 9a, 12n, 3p, 6p, 9p every day. I just divide up my cals for the day into these smaller meals. My 9p might be a bit lighter than the rest, or not.

    cherry tomatoes, crackers,fruit
  • apple with peanut butter
    frozen banana - something sweeter - eat half and coat in chocolate
    most fruit for that matter..
    fruit and greek yogurt
    cottage cheese
    cheese and crackers
    oatmeal
    nuts/seeds
    make a healthy sandwich, eat half.
    half a bagel, light cream cheese
    toast and jam
    popcorn (plain or with a bit of honey)

    all are 100-200 cals roughly

    they aren't low cal but they definetely feel like a treat. I snack on cashews. I'll eat 1/4 cup for 170 calories. I love cashews.
