I usually fast the following day and double my exercise. that will get rid of most of the binge. If you ate as much as I usually do on a binge, 6 or 7 thousand calories then it can take 4 days. GoodLuck0

This is bad, but was the food good? I'm thinking about a little bingy myself, but I've had a couple/few over the last month so I'm trying to be better. I always cut my calories the next couple of days and I haven't gained weight so far.0

I was soooooo there last weekend. I even drank. It's taken a couple of days, but with lots of water and a balanced diet the 3 1/2 pounds of damage is slowly coming back off. Lots and lots of water.0

Learn from it and move on! We all mess up sometimes! go get some hard work out time in over the next couple days it will make you feel better.
You can do this!0 -
Do NOT fast! I'm sorry, but I don't see that as healthy. It could just throw your body off balance, so, keep calm, exercise as you normally would, and drink plenty of water to flush it through your system.
Aim for tomorrow to be a wholesome, healthy day. That binge should have satisfied your cravings, that's why it's good to have one cheat meal, or one cheat day a week so that you don't feel like you're missing out on anything.
Tomorrow is another day. A clean, fresh start. Now, smile. Positivity is the key. Everyone makes mistakes, we're only human.

Fasting is never the answer. It's not good for the metabolism. Just remember tomorrow is new day. Eat, but eat right!0

It's OK. A few binge days is fine. You won't gain weight as long as you get back on track the next day! Good luck!0

Wouldn't worry about it too much.. We all do that eventually.. Important thing is that u know u went overboard, you admitted it.. I would still log it though to make yourself accountable..Just get back on track the following day, excercise more and drink your alloted 8 glasses of water if not more.. You won't get off track.0
-
Also, it takes over 3,000 kcals on top of what your daily intake is to put on just one pound! So, no worries.

Spike day it will probably do you good if you haven't had a binge for a while and have been on a calorie deficit for some time. Relax :bigsmile:0

I killed a whole box of frosted mini wheats this am :-(0

LISTEN...it's ok! you can get right back on track on your next meal don't go overboard restriciting and working out trying to "make up for it". just forgive yourself and move on. we all get off track. JUST GET RIGHT BACK ON :0) you might want to consider what made you go on a binge...stressed, bored, upset about something? its been my experience working in the field that there are emotional issues tied to our eating behaviors. getting to the root of those issues will keep us in check.
best wishes to you on your journey ;0)0 -
Don't fast. It its the worst thing you can do for your bod. Load up on veggies and fruit for the next couple of days. Mostly that and protein if need be. Just a few oz a day, but pile on the veggies and fruit!0
-
i would still log it and then u can see just how much damage has been done, although it may not been much hunnie0

You are fine. When you exceed your caloric requirements, you actually increase your fat burning hormones. It may actually help you lose if you get right back on track. I do this on purpose every week.0
-
don't worry, some people, a lot of people go through it. move on, and you'll get back on track. it's a mind thing0

Workout a little bit. It will make you feel better emotionally.
Starting tomorrow, pretend this binge didn't happen. You can change what already happened. All you can do wake up tomorrow and realize it is a new day with a new set of goals.0 -

you just gave your body a shock. It might rev up your system. If you get back on track and be tough for the next few days ,I venture to say it won't even be an issue. It's gonna happen.... don't fast. just eat really low fat healthy food..oh and exercise a bit more than usual the next couple days, you'll be fine0

Never deprive your body of the fuel it needs, especially if you're working out.
Every second that you're alive is a chance to rectify mistakes that you've made!
Feel guilty?? Go get a tall glass of water and don't set it down until you finish drinking it.
Go look in a mirror, stare yourself in the eyes, and tell yourself that YOU have this. YOU are responsible enough and strong enough to pull yourself out of making bad choices.
Start planning your next healthy meal now. Find something with a lot of protein, and a lot of veggies. Nothing makes you feel better than getting back on track, and punishing your body for your bad choice does nothing but make it harder to stay on track.0 -
Bumps in the road and binges do not mean that you have failed. They happen all the time. Don''t worry about it.
Maybe try and figure out why you binged. Are you getting enough calories? Are you allowing yourself to eat what you want? Are you restricting too much or putting food into "bad food categories"? Maybe it was an emotional thing? If you figure out the problems you can prevent it from happening again.
Tomorrow just start again with your normal routine. You are going to be fine.0 -
First of all, it's ok. We're all human! A little bit of binge eating does you good. Just make sure it doesn't take over your life. Have you been exercising a lot and not eating much? I've found that I binge the day after I exercised a lot and didn't eat over 1250 calories. If it's becoming a problem (like mine was) I would suggest finding out what's triggering it and try to fix it. But if this isn't a recurring problem for you then don't beat yourself up over it. Drink lots of water and make it better starting now, not tomorrow. Have a nice salad for dinner0

I've been there... especially when I'm "dieting". I have to keep reminding myself everyday that I'm not on a diet. I'm trying to get healthy. True, part of that is to lose weight, but the goal is moderation and health. I ask "would my healthy me make this choice?" The tough part is being honest with yourself about what your version of healthy is and not being too strict. I work things like birthday cake, girlscout cookies, coffee creamer and wine into my daily calories at least once a week. I don't expect there will be much more room for these things in maintenance mode, so I think it's a good place to start living a healthy lifestyle. It can be done, it just needs to be in moderation, one serving and only once in a while. Since starting this, I've only had 2 small binges and neither of them put me over on my calories. It's the balance I've found to work for me and I've been losing every week so far.
Today, you broke your caloric limit. The good news is you haven't ruined anything. Tomorrow, you get a new one. Please don't try to 'fix' what has been broken today, it can't be undone without drastic measures just as equally damaging as the binge itself. Just move forward with your head high and a resolve not to break the caloric limit tomorrow. You are ready for this change or you wouldn't be here.0 -
I recently binged for about 4 days - while on my monthly cycle
I felt horrible while doing it also, but the food tasted soo good!
I even had thoughts of making myself throw it up (cause my stomach hurt from being soo full) but I didn't.
I started working out about a month ago and thought that I should just put in the hard work and burn the calories that I consumed. I had literally gained about 4 lbs in 4 days - and I'm sure it's going to take me at least a week to loose it.
I've decided not to cheat that bad again ... I felt horrible about myself & guilty while I was eating the food and I don't want to feel that way again.
The best thing to do is just learn from your experience. What did you gain from the binging? Weight!!! If that is not your goal, then do the things that make you reach your goal (healthy weight loss) by eating right and exersicing0 -
Relax. I've had four or five binges over the past few month and I'm still down 35lbs and ongoing. As long as you forgive yourself and get right back on track the next day all is good. I think sometimes days like this are actually necessary for sustaining weight loss.0
-
I am not doing great either today. Feel like I could eat an entire supermarket. Ever since I started the 30 DS i am famished.0
-
As most everyone has said, a spike day here and there is good for you. About once a month, I have an eff it day...I eat whatever sounds good, but I log it and I make sure that I up my workouts a little the rest of the week. When I do that, it usually kick starts me, and I get another good loss. It's been working well for me for awhile. Just drink lots of water and up your workouts, but don't fast.0
-
i did that last night i thought. but when I looked at what i ate i really was only over by a couple hundred. my issue is that I never have binges and I dont know what triggered it. I would be more worried about the why.0
-
Must be one of those days. TOM here. Blahh. Start fresh tomorrow! That's what I am doing.0
-
I killed a whole box of frosted mini wheats this am :-(
