So I have had the same cross training shoes for some time now. I have big foot so I have trouble finding women's cross trainers I like. I have New Balance now. I am looking to get a new pair once I reach a goal as a treat. Would love to hear what you wear.

Nothing but the best....Asics Gel Phoenix or Kayano!!! I've had 10 pairs in the past 5 years, and I wouldn't get another brand.0

I got a running evaluation and the shoes that felt best from all the ones that I was given to try we're the Nike Zoom Vomero+ 5, size 10, wide. Those were the ones I ended up buying.
The second best pair I tried were Brooks Glycerin 9, size 10D.
I used to run in Asics but they ended up tearing up my feet, blisters, rubbing my feet totally raw in spots, etc. I did try some Asics after my evaluation but I could feel them on my feet. And, according to the folks at the run stores, anyplace you can already feel touching your feet will likely become rub/painful spots later. Basically you want to put the shoe on and not feel it touching your feet anywhere and not have any part of the shoe that you have to get used to.0 -

Nike's foot shape and my foot are the perfect match. I am female but I get a man's size 6 or 6.5 due to the shape of my duck-foot shaped foot--wide at the toes and narrow at the heel. Nike Air was the first shoe I ever put on that felt exactly right immediately.0

I love brooks running tennis shoes.0

Vibram five - fingers... Sprint for the treadmill, classic for work, and I just ordered a pair of Speed for casual wear.0

Thanks ladies! I appreciate it! I am going to do a little research into each of them and try some on.0

well, i'm a 9 1/2, or a 10 wide width lol. i get my chubby feet from my great grandmother. I have Reebok SolarVibe. They're really cute and the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. They're the most I've ever spent on shoes- $79.99 but totally worth it!0

right now i have a pair of K-Swiss Tubes (running shoes because I walk alot) and they are actually men's shoes.
I have a wider foot (and an aversion to pink) so I have better luck with men's sneakers.
Adidas also seems to do well for a wider foot. Let us know what you get!0 -
New Balance (wide) and wouldn't buy any other. Sad they don't come in brighter colours0

OMG! Love the responses! Thanks again for all the suggestions. I have to decide what goal to get these at. Trying all these different shoes on will definitely make me want to reach my goal sooner.0

Nike Free Run 2's - they're super comfortable and light. Great for cross training and feels like your barefoot! For running, I like Nike Lunarglides +2; super soft cushioning for comfort and support.0

I'm a fan of Asics running and cross trainers, absolutely no going back, best shoe that works for my big feet!0

NIKE Free Fits, LOVE them!!0

I wear an 11 (gasp, I know)...I love the Brooks Adrenaline GTS. They are not cute at all but they do the trick for running. They are an excellent motion control shoe0

This is a great thread! I have Vibram Bikila but am looking for other options as well. Don't get me wrong, I love my FF but I like to switch it up as well.0

I have New Balance Minimus WT10's, and they're my second pair in a row. I LOVE them! Since they're minimus shoes, it's the same basic idea as the vibram five fingers, except they dont have individual toes. They allow your own muscles in your feet and legs to do the work instead of your shoes. That builds up more muscles that you don't usually use because we wear shoes so often, but I've noticed that having worn them for a long time that they really help my knee pain and balance, because I have built up more of my own muscle to help support myself instead of relying on shoes or inserts. They say they are trail shoes but for me they're perfect for anything, I wear them on trails but I also wear them at the gym, on a run, playing football, etc. I highly recommend them!

i need anything with ultra arch support. i've tried both asics and brooks. both supposedly have a good reputation for my particular foot issue, haha. it's important to get your foot tested for whether it rolls in (or out) so that you know what to buy. i had mine walking on a treadmill and videotaped for free. i used to get shin splints all the time and this fixed the problem, and they said it would.
EDIT: mine are not cross trainers, sorry. they are specifically for running.0 -
Brooks adrenaline. I could do with more support but no one makes arch supports high enough for my freakishly high arches!
I also have Asics for indoor/circuit training, inov8s for off road and vibram 5 fingers for barefoot running!0 -
I suggest going to a reputable footwear store, like Fleet Feet. They will look at your feet and try and match the correct shoe for YOUR foot. Also my store allows you 90 days to try out the shoes. If you don't like them for ANY reason you can bring them back. That was a great selling point for me because until you start really using the shoes day in and day out, you aren't going to know how they are really working for you. They may be a little pricier than a big box store, but I think they are worth it!0

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate this! I have a lot of shoes to try.0

i switched from asics to brookes, and doubt I'd change back. I wear a defyance 4.
I'll get re-fitted in six months or so, when I'm a bit lighter. I also have big feet (UK size 9 - US 11).0 -
Mizuno Wave - love them!0

Me too. I used Asics for 18 months, but when I went to get a gait analysis done I was told Asics are better for heavier runners, and I needed something lighter with less cushioning.0 -
I recently got a pair of Skechers GoRuns, which I love! They are running shoes not cross trainers but so light and comfy I want to wear them all the time! I'm a size 7, medium to narrow, high arches0
