I posted last week that I finally managed to run for 30 mins straight - which was NSV no.1
I started this serioiusly when I realised how unfit I was - weight loss will be nice but fitness is my main goal. Just before Christmas my resting heart rate hit 100bpm - it scared the heebie jeebies out of me!!!! I've always been fat, but always used to be pretty fit & healthy....
Today my resting heart rate is 60bpm
NSV N0.2 reached much quicker thn I ever expected:)

That's awesome! Keep up the fantastic work! Sometimes those NSVs can be more satisfying than the number on the scale0

thats interesting what u said about resting heart rate?? i'm not very up on what it should be etc.... can you give me some info?0

excluding any medical conditions, the lower your resting heart rate is the fitter you are (generally) - an averge resting heart rate is approx 70bpm (beats per minute). more than 100 is worryingly high.... it is an indicator of high blood pressure (which I didn't have), obesity and all the stuff the doctors keep telling us is going to limit our lifespans and lifestyles!
There is some (growing) evidence that everyone's heart has a set no of beats in it and when you reach that number, your number is up as it were..... having 100bpm 24/7/365 is obviously a lot more beats than 60bpm 22/7/365 and 120bpm 2 hours a day while excersising.....
Also a`lower resting heart rate means you can work a lot harder/longer before you start to feel it:)
BTW chldren naturally have higher heart rates....0 -
my resting rate can be between 40 and 50 at times, guessing thats good!!0
