Hi fitness pals i have caught a few promotional adverts for fitness/workout dvd's recently and just wondered are there any out there worth spending my hard earned money on.
I am in the uk and i have a few Davina Maccall dvd's and they are hard work but im being tempted by The 10 minute trainer or Insanity but i would really love to know what others would recommend or would say dont waste your money on that one.
I look forward to reading your posts and please feel free to add me :O)

I loved the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels! I lost 13.25 inches and 8 pounds in just 30 days! And I did not eat healthy, although I did stay between 1,200-1,400 calories a day. I am now doing her Ripped in 30 and I love it too! They are both cheap (around $10 in the US) and only 25 minutes a day!

hi there i love the tae-bo workout dvds and also have the 10min blast off belly fat one which is great and you can feel it the next day, it does give you the choice of a quick 10min sess or more if you have the time.
I would love to try Insanity but having witnessed the knackered-ness of my hyper rugby captain, i think the 30day shed would be better 1st lol x

I love 30 Day Shred, too. Haven't been able to do it in 30 days, due to remodeling, illness, etc. I've only made it halfway through level two, but what a difference already. It's a hard workout for me.

before you buy anything, try them out first. i love the library for that. you can borrow them for a week or so and see if you like it. plus it helps me mix everything up so i dont get bored doing the same thing every day
  • I'm a certified beach body addict. If you're just starting out Debbie Siebers Slim in 6 is a great intense workout to get ya in gear. If you're a bit more advanced P90X and Insanity are awesome! I've heard great things from friends who have Turbo Fire - but I have never tried that one.

I have 30DS and it's alright for a quick 20min workout. To be honest though - I didn't keep my attention doing the same thing everyday. So I've never made it through 30days of it.

Good luck with whatever you pick!

Any Deanne Berry one's e.g clubland work it out, work out of your life, pump it up e.t.c i find enjoyable but also get a great workout

for me I need something that is fun to do with decent music not something with boring monotonous music and boring workout I have heard 30 day shred works but I tried it and was insanely bored with it I simply couldn't motivate myself to do it and the music drove me mad but that's me lol

I really love Turbo Jam! It's my shiznit! I bought Insanity a year ago and attempted it for about a week then gave it up. It was very intense and getting thru the warm up was tough. I am sure if I stuck with it the results would have been worth it but I am not fond of jumping around everywhere.

so 30 day shred sounds like a popular one...i have to say i was a little scared by insanity and the other beach ones as they look seriously hard...not that i fear sweating and hurting but just not sure im physically capable of managing those just yet. will check out the library though thanks guys keep the suggestions coming

If you need something to bring you slowly into high intensity aerobics, Leslie Sansone 4 fast mile or 5 fat burning miles will build your endurance. I also think these are her best DVD's for weight loss results. I burn between 500-800 calories with a Polar F7 HRM, so I pretty sure it is on the money. I bought Turbo Jam years ago in 2006 but didn't have the aerobic capacity. Then last year I saw Leslie on a free cable preview. I bought the DVD and did for like 3 weeks and was able to transition to Turbo Jam Cardio Party (40 mins, burn 700 calories but haven't mastered technique) and Ab (20 min) with no problem. It also has a strength training component but that is my strong point when it comes to working out. However, I hate ab work on the floor. I don't know what Beachbody is offering the old TJ or just TurboFire. I have 30 day shred, I don't like Jillian's style I like peppy upbeat happiness so I actually want to see your face again and again. The music is super basic and it is more like sets with crappy casio keyboard music. You can check out clips of videos on www.collagevideo.com to give you a basic idea and read more reviews. I don't think they do international. Good luck. PS I am 5'5" and CW 206 lbs, BW 221 lbs (don't know how to convert to kegs). Just started weight loss in January 2012. Best.

I love Billy Blanks' Ultimate Tae Bo workout dvd. It's a 90 minute workout, plus there is an extra 25 minute 'fat blaster' workout. This is by far the best workout dvd I have ever come across- I do the workout every day and have lost 66 pounds so far.
I just got the 30 day shred dvd and am looking forward to trying that one out.
I have a "The Biggest Loser' dvd which is also good- it mixes cardio with strength training.

Ripped in 30 by Jillian Michaels if you're in pretty good shape (or just want a challenge)

I just started 30 Day Shred after 5 days of doing Ripped in 30. I got to where I could do Ripped in 30 real easy. But I started 30 Day Shred tonight and it kicked my butt. I don't know if it is because I went backwards, but 30 Day Shred is way harder for me. :)

I am 7 days in my 30 day shred! I really like! Its hard but you get more comfortable with it! I haven't found myself bored by it and I don't think I will just because you go up a new level and workout every 10 days! I read a lot of really good things about it so I may be to concentrated ( excited about) on my goal to be bored by it lol! Good luck!

thanks everyone....i think exercise can feel hard for some people and not for others i find some days something feels easy but the next time i do it im shocked at how tired and weak i feel.....eveyone has good days and bad days and its all about getting ideas and adapting the exercises you do when they become easier.
my moto is as long as im doing something its better than doing nothing :O)
good luck everybody with which ever form of exercise you choose x
