apology to my MFP friends

every few months, I get this spurt of energy. I feel as if I have bottomed and I become determined to lose weight and say to myself this is it....The routine is the same. I come on MFP again...guns blazing...I post and ask questions and I log my calories and make a whole set of amazing friends. They write to me, offer me support, offer encouragement and I write back and all is great in the world...That week. THEN It happens...the binge monster kicks in...and one day, then 2, then I ask for encouragement and everyone is helpful and supportive...but then when it continues and I get back on the horrid binge ride that I cannot escape...I get to ashamed and I completely lose touch, I don't log on and I don't answer my friends back, until I am forgotten. I have changed my name, It's been very shameful. This time, I want to say I am sorry to my friends who have supported me and I have disappeared. Also I want to try to treat this place almost like therapy and really get healthy this time. No lies and no shame. Thank you and I hope I can be there for you guys as well. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Welcome back!!! You can do this. If I can do it, I think just about anyone can. I wondered if I'd ever be able to eat less than 3 eggs in my omelettes and if I'd ever be able to make a meat loaf last past dinner and lunch the next day (I live alone). I wondered if I'd ever get my blood sugar under control. Now I'm aiming for getting it so far under control that I can stop taking meds. owe it all to MFP and I'm very grateful.. We all can do it. Now that I've gathered a few friends, the personal daily reports are also a boost, so grab some friends - even me.0

I agree. Keep logging whether you are on the wagon or off. It makes it easier to get back on the wagon and stay on track. If you are shamed with your diary, make it private. At least then you will know what is going on for you.0

Your post is certainly a step in the right direction for you.
You can do this - you are worth this. Friends will always forgive, so long as you are around for them to forgive.
Welcome back0 -
Please don't start your new journey feeling ashamed. I think most of us have been where you are. I first joined MFP over two years ago and did the same thing, (except change my name.) I finally came back a little over a month ago and was determined to work it this time. Because of my new attitude I have been able to lose 12 pounds in that month (not much, but it's a start) and I know I have other areas I need to work on as well. In the past I always set crazy goals for myself and then would beat myself up when I didn't reach them, which led to me giving up. This time around I decided I would try to lose 6 pounds a month, that seemed more realistic and do-able to me. I wasn't able to lose the weight until I had a clear plan, with clear realistic goals. Once I did that it seemed to start working. Best of luck to you.0

You silly girl! We all hit the same wall once in awhile! My MFP friends and I make fun of eachother for falling of wagon and threatin to duct eachother back on the wagon with the new "stylish" duct tape! Try to log the bad times. that way this time next year you can go back and say ..ok last year i had this problem for this many days..and make it shorter! This is the first time I havn't quit when I cheat. Im happy to say I will be at 200 days logged soon! I have alot of Crappy meals but I just do better the next meal!!0

Don't beat yourself up. That is probably the majority of the reason why we quit. Take the stress off and take one day at a time or even one meal at a time. Every little bit counts. Every bite we take, every step we make, every extra 5 min of exercise we can do. Tonight I did 10 min on the exercise bike and I am sick. I didn't feel like it, but I needed a break from laying in bed all day long. I thought, Hey every little bit counts so I think I will go and ride the bike for a min. We are in this for the long haul and every little bit of exercise and eating right counts. It make not show up on the scale tomorrow morning but in the long run it will eventually make a difference. Good luck and welcome to the rest of us who have done tons of diets and failed just like you. It is a new day. Go for it.0
