I use it as a prewash hair conditioner up to twice a week, don't need to use any hair conditioner at all. A little rubbed on the hands and then dry hair also helps tame and define my curls as i come closer to needing a shampoo.

I also use it as a face and body moisturiser.

Some people use it for oil pulling (teeth) - google it, quite interesting...haven't tried it myself but apparently it works according to a poster on another website I visit, they said they have excellent results.

The majority of the people who consume a lot of coconut oil are typically not calorie counting for weight loss but are probably doing another type of weight loss program eg LCHF or following other dietary principles such as primal or paleo..which would usually be moderate carbs, moderate protein and higher than the norm fat intake.

GNC had a sale in-store (maybe online too, not sure) on Nutiva brand unrefined virgin coconut oil, buy 1 get 1 half off. I also use the Nutiva brand chia seeds. I have not cooked with the coconut oil yet but did buy 2, one for beauty and one for cooking. I have used it on my body at night for 2 days now and a little dab rubbed into my face too. WOW I feel so soft and the smell is mild and pleasant.

Can't wait to cook with it and even try it on my hair too!

*Thought about trying a little dab in a bath sometime too, since I already use other oils in my bath at times too (lavender, jojoba, pre-mixed blends, etc.)

    20. Lubricant – it is an all-natural, perfectly safe personal lubricant. Not compatible with latex!

I was waiting to hear this!

I just ordered it online & they have the deal there, plus free shipping right now. :) I'm anxious to try it on my hair. I've actually had some success with an organic hair product that contains coconut oil, but I'm in need of a bit more help regrowing my hair after having it relaxed. Quite a bit of it broke off and fell out, primarily on the top of my head. It's not really noticeable yet, as it's only been 5 weeks since I had it done and my hair hasn't grown a whole lot... But anything that may help stimulate growth is a winner in my book. The product I've been using has kept my hair smooth and soft, it just couldn't really protect it from the damage I inflicted, unfortunately.

I want to try coconut oil for my hair, but I didn't figure out about it in till after I bought olive oil for my hair. Haha.
Once I use up the olive oil I'll invest in coconut to see if there is a difference in results.

I can honestly say I haven't had a bad hair day since I started using it as shampoo six or so years ago!
I heard about using it as shampoo but when I looked into it only could find it as a condittioner. Do you just work it into your hair and rinse?

Coconut oil is amazing for both hair and skin...I make a deep conditioning treatment for my hair using warmed up coconut oil and honey and it tames my frizzy curls and leaves it so soft and shiny, not to mention it smells gr8 also!
