I'm no expert, but when I go to buffets I always limit myself to 2 HALF plates of food. I know I'll want to go back up and get more/try other things, so I only fill my plate half full the first time, so I can allow myself more. It's a matter of learning to only take really small amounts of each thing if you want to try lots of things. :)

    Good luck!

Buffets have tons of different foods, surely you can find something relatively healthy and get a reasonable serving of it. You didn't give much of a clue about what kind of buffet it is. But whatever they serve, just get a regular-sized plate like you would normally eat at home.

Also, fill up your plate with a salad (dressing on the side, with healthy toppings), veggies, and grilled meat. Try to avoid the fried things, creamy things, etc. I also allow myself a dessert bc I don't want to feel deprived.......

    This^

It's easy to fill-up on salad. and find some good meat. Have water.

I only drink water no matter where I'm at. Short of coffee in the morning. When I go to a buffet I eat mostly meat. Most have stewed cabbage too and I HAVE to eat it!

Thanks everyone. I was successful! I had 1 full plate of salad then 2 half plates of other different foods since it was a "around the world" buffet. I topped it off with some sugarfree dessert. :)
