Since January 1st I have been working out and dieting to loose weight for summer. I work out 5 days a week doing about 30 minutes of cardio and 45 minutes of weight lifting. I eat very healthy eating about four or 5 small meals a day. I thought that by making this change in my daily routine would get me in shape and looking good for the summer. However, since I started I havnt lost a single pound and I have actually notice my clothes are fitting me tighter! This is so frustrating to me because i am working so hard havnt slacked off of my wieght loss plan. Any Ideas or Suggestions about what I should do?

Are you tracking all your food? You may not be eating enough; you may be retaining a lot of water; there could be several things going on with the food you're eating. It's so important to log everything you eat. Since January 10th I'm down 22 pounds so you definitely should be seeing some progress. Stay motivated and never give up!!!!0 -
I've noticed the same thing and I'm frustrated. I've been told that I'm not eating enough calories and the calories I'm burning from exercising I need to eat back to cover them. Are you eating enough? Your clothes might be feeling tighter because of muscle, not sure. Don't give up.0

How many calories are you eating? You may not be eating enough. I was baulking at people when I first came to this site that suggested that eating more would help me lose weight. Well, I finally tried it and I started losing. I upped my calories to 1400 per day and started eating back most of my exercise calories. After I got my fit bit I came to realize that my BMR was much higher than what MFP had it set at and so I was not fueling my body.
I am living proof this does work, and I only have the last 5 lbs to lose, the hardest ones! I took me 2 months to lose around a pound and when I upped my calories, I lost 2 lbs in a couple of weeks!
Try it for a few weeks.0 -
omg i'm totally in the same situation as you, been bodyrocking since jan 5x a week and just finished wk 1 of insanity. just when i dropped 2pounds last week, im back to square one now
sometimes i think i might not be eating enough ( abt 1500cals a day excl exercise)
oh well, dont give up!! one day our efforts will be converted into results (i'm seeing more muscles already)0 -
I'm experiencing the same frustration. I've been working out 4 days a week between 30-45 minutes. And I'm back to square one. I thing I'm seeing differently is that my clothes seem to fit better. They say muscle weighs heavier than fat. Hopefully, this is a good sign. I haven't taken measurements, but I plan on taking them this evening. Maybe measurements will show a downward trend. I have a trip to the Bahamas at the end of April and hope to loose at least 5 lbs or more before then. Don't give up!!! I'm sure we will see a difference soon.0

Definitely check your calorie intake. I've suffered from that in the past - healthy eating and training hard but didn't lose a pic after 3 months. I had to increase my calorie intake by 400 calories a day! So I increased my carbs (instruction from the dietician I was working with) and 2 months later 22lbs off. It was the only thing I changed. So definitely check your intake. Your body needs energy to burn energy.0

Thank you guys so much for your advice...Im going to try to up my calorie intake and see if I can start seeing results. I guess I just felt like eating more would not help me loose weight but I havnt been taking into consideration how much i work out. I will keep you posted and see how it goes0
