You get cranky if you have gone 2 days without a run!

    This one for sure..

This is an awesome thread! Good for motivation to start running too.

When you dream of running for fun.
When you can outrun your/your friend's kids.
When you have more specialized gear for running than for anything else you do.

for me... I knew I was a serious runner when I started referring to 3 to 6 miles as "short runs."

And I have headed out 22 degree weather to run just so I wouldn't have to run on the treadmill!

That was fun...sorry I took most of the low hanging fruit. BTW 22F is cold to me.
You know you’re a serious runner when –

Your first mile is a warm up
It’s 22 degrees Fahrenheit and you are headed out to run
You’d feel very bad if you missed a run
    You plan your runs
    You have running gear
You are careful not to drip on stuff after your run
During the run you can part with flatulence and not break stride (at all)
When you hear a sound in the woods, you know what made it without looking
A one mile uphill is no big deal
You get a little PO’d if someone crosses into your lane
You’ve ever consider running instead of taking the car
You keep track of the miles on your shoes
You keep track of the miles on your treadmill
You know your pace without using a watch
You know your heart rate without using a monitor
You know how long it will take the car to reach you the instant you hear it
You have no issue with running immediately after a big meal
You debate whether you should land on the heal or the toe
Guess that’s enough, please post some more…

you know you are a runner when you get a GPS watch or app and upload the maps of where you jogged to Facebook (even knowing most people don't give a crap.)

you know you are a runner when you see a safety pin and the 1st thing you think of is how it would look pinning a number to your shirt.

you know you are a runner when you wave to other runners during your jog.

Welp. that confirms it. I'm not a serious runner, nor do I intend to be. HA! I run about 5 miles on the treadmill, good enough for me.

    bump for later...

and: when you don't have any more workout clothes because you've been running every day and sweated through every shirt, and now everything is in the laundry and you don't have time to do it.

So true on both of those things!

One day when I was deep into marathon training someone asked me how far I had to run that day and I said, "Oh, only 5 miles." (In my head I'm thinking, "Thank goodness, 5 is a breeze, at least it isn't 18 or 20") and then I looked at the person and they were giving me this look..... Apparently "only" and "5 miles" do not belong in the same sentence for everyone. LOL!

You know the runners' prayer: Lord, if you'll pick 'em up. I'll put 'em down.

Speed bumps in the road amuse you.

You've spent more on shoes in a given month than you did on food.
