Is the fat in eggs 'good fat'? I don't understand the difference between good fat and bad fat

Bad fat is artificial trans fat.
Some will say that saturated fat is bad. IMO, worrying about saturated fat intake is missing the forest for the trees.0 -
Everything about eggs is good.0

Only the yolk has bad fat. High in cholesterol as well. In moderation though it is fine I imagine.
Egg whites are good, no worries there.0 -
eggs are wonder food. Yes, there is fat in yolk, but this fat is very important, because they contain fat soluble vitamins, like vitamin A and E.
One whole egg is about 70 cal, less than a piece of bread, 2-3 times less calories than any of your "health bars".0 -

True but there are high cholesterol levels in the yolk which you should pay attention to.0 -
Everything is super natural and healthy in eggs. I usually do one egg and a half cup of Egg Beaters just to get a lot of bang for your buck. You get tons of scrambled eggs for few calories!0

The whole of the egg is good, there is protein in both. The Cholesterol in eggs was dispersed as a myth.
It is a darned shame when people throw away the yolk, much of the goodness is in the yolk.0 -

This....eggs are perfectly fine for you0 -
Thanks everyone!0

eggs are good for you i would not worry about the fat in eggs but keep a eye on the total fat through the day. olive oils is a good fat ,meat fat is not a good fat eggs fall their still good0

You only need to worry about the cholesterol in the egg yolk if you have an issue with high cholesterol or you are consuming a massive amount of eggs on a regular basis, which most people aren't. Eggs are a very healthy food to incorporate into your diet. They are a good source of protein as well.0

Yup I agree as well, reason I said within moderation. Yolks are the best part.0 -
^^^^^^ Agreed! ^^^^^^^^^^
I don't have to worry about my cholesterol, but if you do, just have one whole egg and 2-3 egg whites instead of 2 whole eggs once or twice a week. Here is an interesting site on some egg nutritional info and facts: http://www.cholesterol-and-health.com/Egg_Yolk.html
My OB/GYN always wanted to make sure I was eating eggs when I was pregnant ~ I think it's choline that is good for brain development (found in the yolk)? Can't remember lol0 -
I eat about 70 whole eggs in a week. :blushing:0

I'm pretty sure you're joking but let's say you're serious...how much fiber do you take in weekly?0 -
10 eggs a day is fine as long as you're not eating all that yolk, a lot of bodybuilders have up to 10 per day but they have egg whites for the most part. Yes, yolk may be good fat and it may also have less than the cholesterol most people freak out about but you are definitely over doing it.0
-
Serious yes. Not on the weight loss side. More towards the bulk side.
I get plenty of fiber. about 200 grams of rolled oats a day, minimum of 500 grams veg a day.0 -

Yup, agreed, you probably shouldn't eat the yolks on that amount. It's just helping to bulk up quicker. The yolks will be cut out in a few months completely though.0 -

Oh okay, makes sense. Just be careful with the cholesterol...if it wasn't for that, eggs would be the perfect protein source.0 -
