Sounds like a vitamin or mineral deficiency.

@BAM - you are a brave man getting in the middle of this one.

Are you trying to say I'm an emotional wreck?! What an insensitive thing to say!!! I can't believe you would even!!!! *sigh* but you might be right.... *goes to cry in the corner*

This is me as well. My emotions are all over the place.

really? I fell like I'm going CRAZY!!!

Yeah, I'm a total b*tch, or a total sweetheart and it's never predictable, I feel so bad for my fiancé.

I think this just goes to show how addicted to the comfort food we are...at least I know for me. I have been doing this now for three weeks and I also have been crabbier and it's hard. I hurt a dear friend's feelings the other night. I am realizing that for me I am a true food addict (comfort foods and eating too much - my portion sizes were out of control). I use food to comfort myself and not to FUEL my body. For me this truly is a journey and not a destination. I am also examining ALL aspects of this journey of Food Addiction. I am looking at the Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual. I want this to be a LIFE CHANGE not just weight loss~ I really want to LIVE the rest of my life and not be a prisoner of it.

I don't think it has changed my personality, but it has changed my interests.

I've found that my 'inside' voice has now become my 'outside' voice. :)

I agree with this 100%...I don't hide anymore. Before only a handful of people knew the real me...now F em if they don't like who I am.

It didn't change my personality in the wrong way, but I think it's slowly enhancing my personality even more. I have always been a positive person, but I feel even more positive than before. :)

I found when I wasnt eat enough I was EXTREMELY '*****y'....as soon as I started to eat enough I was much more calm, nicer to people and actually had patience.

My personality hasn't changed much. I'm stilly shy and a soft speaker. But I do tend to look at myself in a might better light now. I used to hate looking at myself, but now I'm more pleased with myself.

I don't think it's really my personality, but I have become more temperamental since cutting calories and upping my activity 2.5 months ago, but I've also become more energetic and more "present" in a way where I was sort of numb before, so my emotions flow more. I guess this is good and bad.

If I have poorly planned my meals one day and find myself starving though, unless you have a deathwish or food in your hand, it's best to stay silent around me and out of my way

It's funny you mention this because I was just thinking how I'm much more testy these days and my tolerance level is super low. It just seems like everyone and I mean everyone is annoying the crap out of me!

I actually think its made me a calmer more relaxed person. I find when I have an off eating day and eat garbage I'll be stressed more than usual for a few days. I also found that all the positive folks I've connected with here have made me a more positive person.

A few things that will affect your mood:

First, hunger/low blood sugar can make us cranky, whether we are heavy or not.

Second, working out can increase your testosterone (slightly in women) which will affect your mood,

and lastly, fat, particularly brown fat, tends to do its own hormone generation, mostly estrogen if I recall (for both men and women). Lose fat, and your hormones will fluctuate.

All of these things can alter your behavior and mood more or less. Increased confidence from a changing body can throw the final spin on it. You might also see an improvement in sex drive.

I have the same problem!!! For me, I lose all patience and am ready to rip anyone's head off if my blood sugar gets too low. That seems to be the only time I am a REALLY cranky b*@*h!!!

brown fat  so if I tan my fat body will that help with the *****iness :grumble:
  • I find I'm incredibly b*tchy pre-gym, and very nice afterwards. Like the thought of going makes me want to kill people, but after I go I love everyone.

HA! This is SO me, too! The high afterwards is so enjoyable...but pre-workout, WATCH OUT!!!

I think I am more positive, happy and energetic. I rarely turn on the TV when I get home anymore. I just feel like doing stuff all the time now.

I am also more confident. I feel better about myself and I think it shows.

It has definitely affected me for the better.

Yes and No. Im still the same caring person I have always been but I found that I make a lot more ruder comments (joking around) then usual. I always want to help people but and a bit of an *kitten* for those who complain a lot but do not do anything to take care of it.
