When weighing food

This is probably stupid but it's something I always wonder and I really am trying to be accurate when I weigh and measure my foods.
I never know if I weigh food before I prepare it if I am getting the correct nutritional content.
Like I buy frozen already cooked chicken breast strips and you just microwave them to defrost and then they are ready to eat. I weigh it frozen so I know how much to use but the frozen weight is more than the cooked weight. Is that how they figure it or do they figure it once it's cooked? The pkg just says serving size is 3 oz.

I'm fairly certain you should go by the weight of the cooked chicken.0

I agree with hdawg and how many servings are in the whole package? If it is only 2 fpr the whole package then after it is cooked just cut it in half and it should be fine. HTH

think of this. if you count the weight before prep you will over estimate your calories. which means you will think you are taking in more than you really are. thereby you will reduce your caloric intake. which in turn will result in more weight loss0

Yeah that's true but also don't want to eat too little either and therefore hinder weight loss. Thanks for the help!0
