water weight or actual fat????

Hey guys just wanted to know after how many pounds lost can u class ur weight loss as actual fat that u are losing, its just that when I told someone about how much I had lost ( 8lbs in 4 weeks) they laughed and said " well u know that that's not fat and just water" it really put me on a downer!

In my opinion, probably 4-5 pounds first week was water, after that, provided nutrtion was in an overall deficit, fat lass. Could be a tiny amount of muscle loss thrown in as well, but I'd say your losing fat.0

Best way to monitor it is to take regular body measurements and and check your body fat % once a month.

Most of what you lose that first week will be water weight if you havent been used to drinking that much water. But if you drink 8-10 cups of water on a daily basis then those lbs the first week arent water weight0
