Starting day 3 tomorrow and hopefully it gets easier. Day 2 wasn't two bad, and i didn't want to give up... So are there any tips anyone can give this old man on training himself to run?

i did that program too. It does get easier!! i promise!! i just finished and can now run for over 4 miles without stopping. you go it! just stick with the program!0

Don't worry about your speed. Go as slow as you need to to make the running time. I trot along at 5mph or less, personally! And I'm a few weeks in!0
