unique salad dressings?

I'd really, REALLY love to start eating salad more but I'm not sure how great a salad would taste without dressing.
My problem is that I have a lot of foods I will not eat, because I simply do NOT like them. Like "I'm going to vomit if I eat this" kind of dislike.
They are:
Mustard
Mayo
Ranch
Sour Cream
and I really don't care for many oils or vinegar.
So that's my issue. Many, if not all dressings contain at least one of those things, so I'm like... lost on what to do.
Any suggestions?

I made a salad the other day with romaine lettuce, green apples, pecans, blue cheese, green peppers and onions. I was almost done with the salad before I realized that I did not put any dressing on it. I didn't miss the dressing at all.0

Do you like salsa? Sometimes I'll put some chicken and salsa on a salad with other salad fixings. Its like a taco salad, minus the taco.0

Have you tried balsamic vinegar? It's delicious, I put it everywhere, even in my sandwiches.0

I dice up tomatoes (with all the yummy juices), green onions and add a little basalmic... Very very low calorie and tastes pretty good0

I mixed some creamy garlic dressing with salsa the other day and omg it was sooo good! Whatever type of creamy textured thing you like, say yogurt, like greek yogurt, take that and mix with salsa, adding a bit more salsa than creamy stuff. You will love it!0

Fruit based dressings are different and good. Puree red or black raspberries with oil & walnuts. If you don't like olive oil, there are options: white truffle oil, coconut oil, sesame oil, etc.0

Salsa, guacamole, or pureed veggies and fruit with herbs.
Or you can lightly coat your salad with sweetened water, and serve it with a mixture of veggies and fruit. I don't need dressing when I have ripe strawberries, kiwis, tomatoes....0 -
I use Red wine Vinegar or cottage cheese0

Hummus is really good too. I also will put my salad in a bowl and add hot soup or stew on top and it will wilt the greens. Super yummy!!0

Newmans makes a light lime vinaigrette dressing. Love it!0

Pomegranate vinaigrette is really good. It does contain olive oil, but it doesn't have that "oily" texture.0

A sqeeze of lime juice and a dash of chilli sauce can really liven up a salad or steamed veggies.
If hyou haven't tried balsamic vinegar - give it a go and see if you like it.
Or, add fruit like mango or orange to your salad - it gives a lovely bit of sweetness to the salad and you really don't need dressing.0 -
How are you with Asian flavours? Sweet chilli, cilantro, soy sauce and lime makes a nice quick Thai-inspired dressing....0

Greek yoghurt, lemon juice, and Garlic
Greek yogurt and teaspoon of shop bought salsa sauce
1 Tablespoon Peanut butter, a dribble of lemon juice, 1teaspoon garlic, 1teaspoon light balsamic salad dressing and soy sauce (optional) - I use this as more of a vegie dip but it's still good.0 -
I love putting warmed salsa on top, like 25 Calories for 4 Tbsp and Its Yummy0

I love that most people advised balsamic. Do you not pay attention to what people post? She doesn't like vinegar.... However, I loved this post and gave me some great ideas since I do not like the same things she posted. I don't really like yogurt but hummus would be yummy with salad or really liven up the yogurt with spices. Great ideas.0 -
I like Benihana ginger salad dressing. It has a little bit of vinegar in it, and some oil, but the vinegar is not predominant at all and I don't get an oily taste from it at all.
1/4 cup sliced celery
1/4 cup soybean oil (or light oil of your choice)
2T chopped onion (I prefer sweet onions)
2T white vinegar
1T tomato paste
1.5 teaspoon soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger (I think they mean powdered, I've seen some other recipes with roughly these porportions use 1 tablespoon chopped fresh gingerroot)
Sone recipes also incluse a little lemon juice too, you might want to try that to mix things up.
Place everything in a belnder and mix till smooth. makes 6 2T servings. 89 cals, 9g fat (sat fats are dependent on oil, soy as 1g) 1 carb, 0 fiber 0 protein.
You could also probably stretch this a little farther by adding a little more veggies and a tad more ginger to get less calories per serving. The salt could easily be nixed and you can use lower sodium soy sauce too.0 -
I've been doing a lot of fresh squeezed lime or lemon juice over my salads. Let it set for a min or two to let the acid start working and then a small drizzle of really good extra virgin olive oil, some cracked black pepper, and a sprinkle of salt (if I don't have salty toppings already).0

Though Balsamic is a vinegar, a good, well-aged balsamic does not have as strong of an acidic tone that most people associate with vinegar. In general, the older and thicker a balsamic is, the less acitic tasting it is. I just popped into my pantry to check out my stock, and while a 3-leaf baslamic is still on the acidic side, my 4-leaf balsamic has a nice blend of sweet/sour. I would recommend the OP check with a foodie friend if they have some well-aged balsamic on hand to see if that is an option. Just try a toothpick dipped into the vinegar and see how you like it. A little balsamic tossed with a salad is a great dressing, as it is only 10 cals per tablespoon.0 -
Also, google orange juice salad dressing recipe. I think that would go well with salads too. Again, this has a little oil but looking at the recipes I don't think it would be too 'oily'.0
