I have been using Coffee Mate FF flavored creamer for years. A friend and my dr said to try to eliminate the creamer from my coffee. Since it has so much sugar. Problem is milk in my coffee is boring. I only drink 2 cups in the AM. Thats all. Should I keep the creamer or find something healthier? What else could I use? Thanks!

I usually use 1 tbsp of a sugar free creamer (whatever is on sale), then a tbsp of skim milk, along with a 1/4 tsp of sweet n low. You still get the flavor, but a fraction of the calories.
Also, you can try to switch yourself over to tea as well if you like it.0 -
You could also try Stevia which is an all natural sweetener. Sweet n low, splenda and all them other "sweeteners" aren't really that good for you. They are filled with stuff that is not good for the body. Stevia is all natural and comes from a plant. You could also try some sweetened or unsweetened almond or coconut milk.0

I switched to the Trader Joe's brand soy coffee creamer. I have found it is the best tasting and healthiest substitute for full fat half and half coffee creamer.

I just switched to a sugar free creamer for medical reasons. I am disappointed that it is not fat free but I still use it. I just started using it so I am getting used to the taste.0

I add low fat milk, 1 tsp of sugar and either Unsweetened Cocoa Powder or Cinnamon.0

I drink my coffee black, but I do like good old fashioned cream or coconut milk in my coffee from time to time.0 -

I got used to drinking mine without creamer but I do still keep a bottle of sugar free for weekends and DF. Measure it out and try to keep it to one serving. I noticed the sugar free seems to be slightly better for you in terms of calories and sugar than the fat free.0

Land o' Lakes make a fat free half and half that doesn't have very many calories (compared to other creamers) and if you are not opposed to Splenda, they make flavored ones for your coffee ( I think they are between 5-10 calories a piece). The french vanilla one is delicious! I started using this in my coffee, but it was still about 30-35 calories per cup and I decided I could use that for more food so I just gave up coffee all together. Mornings like this though...I really, really miss it!! (Soooooooo sleepy!)0

I drink mine black but you could try some of the flavored almond milk. Its tasty and my daughter loves it in her coffee. It also have twice the calcium as milk and some protein. Another option is to find the sugar free coffee syrups and add them in.0

I just put half and half, try it you will get used to not having sweetner in your coffee.0

I buy the bottles of sugar free vanilla syrup from Starbucks and put a tablespoon of that along with a full cup of steamed milk in my coffee. Yes, I have a very big cup.0

I use unsweetened almond milk and sugar free syrups to flavor my coffee.0

COCONUT MILK! and I second Stevia for sweetening. it works great!0

So funny that you posted this. I stopped putting my Sugar Free French Vanilla creamer in my coffee.
Then just last week, I added it back. I figured that i eat great the whole day and I work out everyday, that it was worth the 3 grams of sugar and 3 grams of carbs. I just enjoy my coffee so much more and it is a pleasure.0 -
I'm a black coffee gal myself, but if I want a little flavor, I'll add some protein powder. Plus, you get the added bonus of extra protein. Chocolate makes it taste like a mocha coffee.0

I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to making my 2 allotted cups of coffee in the morning - My Keurig brews quite strong and I have it set so it fills my cup about 3/4 full. Then I add about 2 TBS of powdered fat free milk, like Carnation, Sugar Free Toranni vanilla syrup (World Market) and then fill my cup up with skim milk - less than 1/4 c.
I know milk has natural sugar and that the Splenda in my sugar free vanilla syrup isn't the best for you, but it's how I cope. It actually turns out quite creamy. My friend swears by almond milk.0 -
You could try fat free half-n-half and add a flavored extract. That way you get the flavor without the sugar. I also drink 2 cups a day and often still use the flavored creamer-I just count the calories. I will try the almond milk as I have some at home!0

I buy sugar free. I don't do sugar in my coffee but love flavored creamer.
If I have 3 cups in the morning (Mon-Fri), I'm not nearly as hungry by noon. It surpresses my appetitite therefore I usually have eaten less in the morning on the days I do coffee.0 -
I either use that Natural Bliss Coffee Mate creamer in Vanilla that someone mentioned or I'll buy organic half and half and use flavored coffee. Plus one packet Stevia in the Raw. Natural Bliss is only 20 calories per serving and they have a low fat vanilla version or the regular version is available in vanilla, caramel and sweet cream.0

I use this! It's great0 -
a tablespoon of half and half has only 20 calories, it has to be better for us than the chemicals added to the Coffee Mate and other flavorings/lighteners0

My sweetend coffee is my biggest down fall, along with not eating breakfast. My solution Coffee Breakfast Shake.
8 oz Brewed Coffee hot or cold
1 Scoop Vanilla whey Protien Powder
1 TBL Spoon powdered Coco
3 drops Almond extract
1 TBL Spoon CocoNut milk
Mix in a Shaker or Blender.....yummy and about 25 grams of Protien. Problem Solved.
I have also added verious berries or frozen peaches for a yummy flavor twist.0 -
I love the organic coconut milk creamer in the organics aisle. It's a little pricey but the Original is sugarfree and only 10 calories a tablespoon. I also DIE over organic soy creamer because it gives such an amaaazing nutty creamy flavor, but I overuse it when I buy it and I don't react well to soy.0

Great idea I may have to try this one!0 -
