Bump! I am looking into lifting heavy and just doing light runs on other days. I am sick of doing so much cardio where I get no where and want to get my body looking better than ever! I am all flab it seems. I have lost 84 lbs and have 16 to go, but I am not so much worried about the weight right now. I just want to look better and feel sexy! :)

    Seriously, READ THIS:

The New Rules of Lifting for Women...

    http://www.thenewrulesoflifting.com/nrol-for-women (quickie overview)

buy it here: http://www.amazon.com/The-New-Rules-Lifting-Women/dp/1583333398/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1332799801&sr=1-2 BEST $12.24 you can spend..

They actually believe that unless you do it correctly, cardio isn't going to help you get where you want.

I have this too. I did the first stage but stopped. The second stage is more movements that I dont really want to do, which is why im switching to Sronglifts 5x5. But I do love the informtaion in the book. It is what started the no cardio kick.

Agreed. I've lost nowhere near what you have :) But still, cardio produces a smaller you. Still the same shape. I started Stronglifts 5x5 yesterday. it's 3 days a week of only compound lifts. Supposed to help you lift 1.5x your body weight. I'm sold on the program and will see where I am at in 12 weeks. He also says no cardio. So I'm listening (except for fun) I have a toddler so we're pretty active. And I can't give up my Zumba once a week! lol.

I lift 4x a week and do HIIT for 15 minutes 2x a week (after weight training). No traditional cardio.

I started doing StrongLifts exclusively about 2 weeks ago and am amazed at my progress thus far. I would definitely recommend trying it out.
