Training for a 5K walk in May

Hey everyone.
I've decided that this year I've kicked up my weight loss journey up a few notches. I am walking for MS the first week of May. I've been walking 3 days a week for 30-40 minutes, however I don't feel as though that is enough. Does anyone have any ideas? Has anyone walked in a 5k, if so what was your training program like?
Thanks a bunch.

The couch-to-5k program is meant to build you up to running a 5k, but you could probably modify it to suite your walking goals. If you're out there walking 30-40 minutes you're probably doing half a 5k or so.0

Walking at a brisk pace is roughly a 15:00 mile, which would put you just over 45 minutes to complete the 5K.0
