Hi, I wondered if anyone has any tips for avoiding a chocolate blowout over Easter. I'm planning to have just a small amount of chocolate over Easter but you know how it is sometimes. I'm a little worried the old me will re-appear. Has anyone got some alternative snack suggestions perhaps so you don't feel you are missing out completely? Whats you plan over Easter for not blowing out?

I am not much of a sweets person at all (luckily) but my crux is fried food...
However I do get occasional sweet cravings and to keep myself for going for Soda or horrible candy, I keep dove dark chocolate pieces in the house. They are 35 calories each and have some health benefits to it (all that of dark chocolate) and each piece is 35 calories.

I just dont over do it on the Easter baskets. This year the Easter Bunny is bringing less chocolate and my son is getting a new Skylander for his Wii game and my daughter is getting cd she has been wanting.

There's a local chocolatier that makes the most fabulous chocolate covered strawberries and grapes. Chocolate and fruit. That's healthy, right? lol. I'll probably have one slice of peanut butter egg and give the rest to my grown kid, have one chocolate covered strawberry and 5 chocolatey grapes. This shall sustain me!

I know the feeling. I am in college now but I am going home for easter and my family owns a bakery. Somehow I see this going horribly. I have a horrible sweet tooth normally but lately, since I've been working out, it is less noticable. Maybe working out more over easter will help you? But even when that doesn't work, a good navel orange, wild (trust me, if you can find them, they are worth their weight in gold) blackberries or ripe strawberries often satisfies my need for sugar. And if not, then it obviously means your body needs the sugar so i indulge, not bad just a piece of dark chocolate or 5-6 dark chocolate covered espresso beans

I always have to have some chocolate around. But I make sure that I buy individual pieces, and usually of a better quality. Then I freeze it. Takes me longer to eat a piece and because of that, I enjoy it more because I savour it, and end up being satisfied after just one (okay, sometimes two!)

Because I have let myself become a chocolate "snob", I am no longer interested in the lower-quality stuff that my kids get. A bit of a mind over matter thing, but I try to stay strong with it.

And I figure that this nice weather that is forecasted for the weekend will help me get out for more walks to burn off those extra calories.

Since i met with my Nutritionist for the first time last week, i have been doing a lot of things differently. Sugar was a HUGE issue with me and I didn't even realize I was getting it in some foods. Thus my weight not moving as fast as it should. She warned me away from processed items- even bagged candies and treats. So, I have found a really good peanut butter egg recipe online-some people call them Buckeyes- and that way I can control the peanut butter, sugar , butter, and chocolate that they are made from. Also- we are going to make homemade carmel corn that i usually make at Christmas time, tint it a little orange/pastel colors, bake it, then pack it into these carrot shaped treat bags. Also going to make my own Easter "Moose Munch" with the chocolate drizzled carmel corn. The candy you buy has so many things in them like Palm Oil, ect that most candy you make yourself would automatically bet a little better. Plus, you control the ingredients. Pastel Butter mints made with reduced fat cream cheese are another item we are making. I am putting the butter mint filling in my candy molds so I have shaped mints. There are so many ideas out there. I am so excited to make this small change for my family. I dont know when Easter became another Christmas with gift giving...we always got a kite, and jelly beans, dyed easter eggs. My kids are older, so gas cards may end-up in their basket this year with the goodies available on the main table for all to enjoy. Good Luck ! =)

Honestly, I fully forsee myself gorging on chocolate this Easter after no chocolate for 6 weeks! I'll probably do a load of extra exercise over the Easter week and keep reminding myself about my progress so far.

Also my boyfriend has bought me a Lindt easter egg; it's so expensive there's no way I'll eat it all in one day! Cheaper chocolate I probably would, but I'm gonna savour this one :)
