I have been using MFP for almost 99 days now and something I noticed is that I no longer can eat or desire a lot of the foods I used to. The first sign I saw regarding this was a month ago when I bought a snack size back of Doritos; I ate one chip and could not stand the saltiness of them. I ended up giving them away to a co-worker. I also used to love Chorizo (Mexican Sausage), I went to a fundraising event where they were serving this and could barely eat half of a piece. Some other foods I used to enjoy but no longer do include: French Fries (except for the seasoned ones at Checkers which I only eat once in a blue moon when it's a high calorie burn day), anything from McDonalds, Olive Garden (their salt content is ridiculous), and beer cheese soup (I could do on and on but you get the idea).

I used to despise the following foods and now I love them: Pasta (though I eat the healthier versions), Protein Bars, Special K Crackers, Tacos (love them now, especially with Avocado) and Raspberry Vingrette dressing as well as the occasional boiled egg.

Has anyone else noticed this as they have changed their eating habits? It's something that has really thrown me for a loop.

yes, and I was just talking with my trainer about this last night! I don't crave candy anymore.....I crave almond butter and toasted sprouted wheat tortillas! ;)

I think cravings are just your body's way of telling you that you need something. And so it tells you by making you crave something familiar. If all that's familiar is good food, you'll crave that instead of junk. :)

Yep, my cravings have changed. I no longer desire eating junk as badly as I used to. And I'm OK with eating the same or similar things every day.

I gave up chocolate for lent. Once I got through the initial shock of not eating a daily piece of chocolate, I found I don't crave it anymore. I also find myself turned off by really salty foods.

This is funny because the other day when I was grocery shopping with my husband he ask me 'what were the tortilla chips I liked' and all I could think about was pickles!! I didn't want the chips which I normally love I wanted pickes and ended up eating half a jar of dill pickles...(I was beyond swollen the next day).

i`ve noticed a huge difference in my taste buds..my daughter gave me a walkers salt and vinegar crisp and it was so salty..yuk and i have to have half sugar in a cuppa tea, otherwise it tastes like its got 4 sugars in it. Have no clue why my taste buds have changed but i`m assuming its because i am not eating a lot of sweet/salty foods.
