Stovetop Popcorn--Oil Calories?

I want to make some popcorn on the stove, and I thought the calories would be pretty easy to calculate since I don't want butter, but I forgot about the oil.
If it says to use a tablespoon of oil, for example, does the popcorn use the entire amount, and should I just log the calories for that amount of oil?

I log the whole tablespoon of oil when I pop corn on the stove. There isn't much residue left in the pot when it is done popping so it must be in the popcorn0

Okay cool, I've never made it on the stove before so I wanted to be sure. Thanks.0

If you have a microwave, put the kernels in a brown paper bag ( like the kind you would pack a bag lunch in ) no oil needed, it works just like a store bought bag only without all the oil and calories.0

Also, if you want the butter taste, use 0 calorie spray butter like I Can't Believe it's not Butter Spray or Parkay spray. I even use the Kernel Seasons flavored salts: http://www.kernelseasons.com/0 -

But do not take your eyes off of it while in the microwave. The bag can possibly catch fire so just keep a close watch.0 -

Careful on the "0" calorie sprays. Check how many pumps of the sprayer the serving size is. I've also used butter flavored cooking spray, sparingly, and seasoned with garlic salt.0 -

Yes this works well to! If you're really wanting the stove top taste though this isn't quite the same. I count the whole tbsp when doing stove top. I also use coconut oil when doing stove top, it makes the best popcorn! And coconut oil is one of the healthiest oils out there, no reason to be afraid of healthy fats!0 -
Heck yeah to the brown bag in the micro and seasoning your popcorn with coconut oil! One of my favorite snacks! :bigsmile:0
