Do you have a physical piece of motivation?

Who has something physical like a piece of clothing, not just a date in the future or something but an actual bikini, dress, pair of pants etc that you can keep trying on and see the progress?
What is yours? Doesn't have to be clothes though! Just looking for some ideas here

Any of my sister's clothes! She's naturally small, and the day that I call her up and ask to borrow a dress will be the happiest of my life.0

I have a pair of jeans hanging on my wall, right next to my calendar in my bedroom. They're one size down from my current jeans, a large size 6 skinny jean, and I look at them every day!0

I have a dress that I brought back to school with me to wear this coming Friday. When i brought it I couldn't zip it up. Last week I tried it on and it fit perfect. Major motivation to get there and to keep working. Next is my bikini!0

I have an entire wordrobe of clothes waiting to be worn again. Expensive clothes that I can't give away. I have to fit into them again!0

Does my tummy count? Looking at it gives me motivation!0

I have a pair of pants that I used to wear about 10 years ago. January 1st of this year I had about 5" between the button and the loop. As of last Thursday, I can actually button them closed! Of course, I can barely breathe and have a huge "muffin top", but at least now I can get them buttoned and zipped close! Once they actually fit - no matter my weight - I'll know that I've achieved my goal and it's time to maintain. Although I highly doubt I'll ever feel like I've hit "maintenance" phase...then I'll probably push for some other goal....0

I had two pair of pants. I would try on to see where I was. It has felt great as they have gotten big! Also though when I was a kid I was anorexic and I do not want to go there again so on my fridge is me at my heaviest when my thyroid shut down due to my ED and other issues, me looking like a bag of bones in skin, me when I was healthy and weighed the best and finally a goal picture of a woman with kick *kitten* abs! I look at that as reminders for me and motivation to keep going and remember if I have opened the fridge out of boredom STOP THINK and then decide if I really need something in there.0

I have a size 8 pair of jeans in my closet. I try them on every time I drop another 2lbs. They button now, but are still not comfortable to wear. LOL
I also have some size 6 shorts I'd like to wear this summer. Have a bit to go for those!0 -
I had a dress I bought for a wedding FIVE years ago ... wanted to wear it for Easter ... so soft and comfortable ... I made it! Woo Hoo!:flowerforyou:0

well... kind of... right now it only exists in my imagination. But my wedding dress. *shrug* :blushing:0

I have a dress that I love hanging on my wardrobe door, glaring at me waiting to be worn :laugh:0

I have a corset dress that my boyfriend and I selected at Anime Boston this past weekend. It's quite a lot smaller than I am, so my goal is to fit into that by the time we go to our next convention together.0

I want to be able to wear a bikini without the side tie or band cutting into my hip fat, instead of a tankini or one piece to hide my middle.0

At first, it was a designer black dress. Now, it's a bikini (almost there).0

a top i bought online in a size small - thats good motivation and the day my fiance's sister will stop looking at me like a piece of lard and i feel i can eat food in front of her , i also find watching shows like the biggest loser very inspiring x0

Clothing that I haven't worn for 2 or 3 years. Such a motivation every time I fit into a pair of capris or dress! A whole new wardrobe that cost nothing! Woohoo!0

That's a great idea actually (having a piece of clothing you want to get into). I just look at the "pins" people find on Pinterest daily for motivation. I see the bodies I want to become and that keeps me focused.0

Three dresses, each a step down from the other. Two sundresses and one cocktail dress... I can't wait to put them on...0

I have a bunch of pre pregnancy clothes that I wore when I was in high school. I wore them also after my first child when I lost the baby weight. Since after my baby in 09 i have been at 190 for like ever!
So yeah, my old hottie tottie clothes
And then I have a picture of my skinny old self on my mirror when I used to dance. *sigh*0 -

A good friend from Singapore sent me a very traditional Chinese New Year outfit with my chinese symbol of the tiger hand-embroidered.
I can almost fit in the pants.. but the top is 90% perfect... just need to lose a little more in the arms...
That is my go-to goal outfit!0 -
This is kind of silly, but when I run in early in the mornings and the street lights are still on, I chase after my "skinny" shadow. For some reason, seeing a longer, leaner version of myself helps get me through a long run.0

all my cute clothes that no longer fit the way they used to.0

The dress I wore 13yrs ago the weekend I met my husband :-)0

I have not thought of this before but had to say, thank you for the idea. I like that I would have a dress or a shirt I want to fit in instead of obsessing over the scale.
Right now, I would just like to run in the yard with my five-year-old without feeling like a need a defibrillator.
Good luck!0 -
Unlike some I can't just put up a pair of pants or bikini for motivation, it just sets me back.
A picture...can't find one of me (full length) that I've ever liked!
But I do have something I'm trying now. My Dad passed away a couple of years ago from his 5th and final heart attack. I immediately went to the doctor to see if I had a healthy heart, being overweight (35# over) and short I worried! I'm good!
So to honor him and remind me of why I should get healthier I ordered the Heart Hero bracelet from Woman's Day. It's $5 for two and right now they are donating a portion to United Health (I think, not sure on the exact name)
I wear it everyday and when I look at it I get up and walk around my office or sway standing up at my desk...bascially anything I can do to just move. It's cute and they give you two, one for you and one for a friend!0 -
a skirt that i used to wear all the time (that is currently 4 sizes too small) and a top i've worn once pre baby (he is 4::ohwell: )0

A Halloween Costume!
Its a tiger stripe leggings and orange top, with tiger ears and tail. I also have the fingerless lace gloves to shop off black claws.
I won a costume contest at Jazzercise with this outfit a few years ago and look forward to strutting it again.0 -
Wow love all of these! Really liked the shadow and bracelet ones, great ideas!
Sounds like everyone's on their way to staying motivated and making a permanent lifestyle change! Keep it up!
As for me I'm on the lookout for that perfect dress to wear to the wedding this summer and a pair of short shorts for the road trip pics on the pit stops on the way there.0
