Nearly a year in (pic heavy)

Once again, I don't seem to be able to edit my old posts, so I thought I'd add a new topic with my progress so far, as I'll probably forget when the one year mark comes around next month!.
For those of you who don't know, I started my new lifestyle with MFP 340 days ago. Standing 5' 10" (1.8m) tall, I weighed 26 stone (364lb / 165.5kg) and I thought I carried it quite well. Talk about denial!

With the help of the MFP app and website, the friends I have made here and my wife and family, I am now 1st 10lb (24lb / 11.1kg) off my target, and feeling fitter and happier than I have done in a very long time.
Triptych - 2012.04.10 - 106.1kg by petenem, on Flickr
Here are a few stats for where I have got to in the past 340 days:
May 2011
Weight - 26st / 364lb / 165.5kg
Waist size - 50 inches (yes - five zero!!)
Jacket size - 54 inches
collar size - 19+ inches
T-shirt size - XXXL
April 2012
Weight - 16st 9lb / 233.9lb / 106.1kg
Waist size - 38 inches
Jacket size - 44 inches (46 for tailored fit thanks to my shoulders)
collar size - 16.5 inches
T-shirt size - L
I can really see the finish line now, and if i can get down to my target weight of 14st 13lb / 209lb / 95kg and have a 36" waist by July when our first baby is born, I will be the happiest man around!
Just remember, if can do it, so can you

Amazing Pete... you've done really well and are looking younger and fitter!
Apart from our weight, we more or less share exactly the same stats, but I suspect you're a fair bit taller than me (I'm only 5'4")
I bet it feels great being able to find clothes in regular sizes rather than looking only in stores that sell Plus sizes :happy:0 -

Thanks
I think the biggest difference between this and when I have tried 'dieting' in the past is that I haven't let bad days put me off. I know it sounds a bit cliched, but tomorrow is another day, and if I fall off the wagon one day I just know I'll get back on it again the next. As far as things that have worked for me go, I'd say the biggest changes have been portion control (necessary for staying within my goals) and a lot more walking. All in all, it's been the little changes that have made the huge differences. I've also enjoyed the challenge of finding exciting things to cook that aren't insanely calorific, as I'm never happier than when I'm in a kitchen surrounded by pans of tasty goodness!0 -
That's amazing, very well done!0
