Does anyone know what, if any, link there is between resting heart rate, metabolism and exercise? Web searches are not telling me much.

Check out the links below. They have some very helpful information regarding heart rates.

unfortunately they only talk about target heart rates. What I am wondering about is how/if your normal resting heart rate affects your metabolism. For example, I have a very low resting heart rate and wonder if that means I am burning less during the day than if my rate was higher. If that is the case (higher heart rate/higher burn) whether there are things you can do to boost it a bit. Or if nature just has your resting heart rate below 60, then so be it, not a big deal.0

Your normal resting heart rate doesn't AFFECT your metabolism... It's an indicator of how efficient your cardiovascular system is. Athletes and people who are in excellent physical shape almost always have very low resting heart rates.0

Well I am hardly an athlete or in the greatest of shape. I was when I was younger, but now I am a fat middle-aged lady but my resting heart rate is still normally in the 50's. If I am working (I alternate between seated and walking at work) it is usually in the mid 60's. Guess it is nothing to be concerned about so I appreciate everyone's responses.
Thanks!0
