What is your goal if you're 5'3!???

A while back I heard this rule of thumb for what one should weigh, and remember, this is just a guideline..it is: 100 lbs for the first five feet of height, and 5 lbs for each inch over five feet, PLUS or minus 10%.
So a 5'3" person would be 115-137.
I am 5'3" and at one time I did weight 115, but I also looked good at 125. Now I'll be happy to get down to 130.
One must, of course, take into consideration bone structure - some people are just built smaller or larger than others.
I hope this doesn't spark a firestorm of arguments because really, each of us is different in size, shape, and goals. We need to do what makes us happy.0 -

im 5'3.5' an my goal is 1250

Ideally I would like to get down to 135-140-however if I am 145 and my body fat is 18 or below I will be completely happy with that, for me it's more than what the scale reads....a better goal is that I want to be a size 6.0

Around 120 pounds but we'll see when I get closer. Might stop at 130 if I like how I look and feel.0

i'm 5'2 goal is 120 but trying for 150 for now, then reevaluating it, my LBM is 126 so I dont believe 120 will happen lol0

I'm 5.3 with rounding and I am shooting for 150 fit and toned. One of trainer friends told me 160 so we'll see how I net out. Brothers like us with a little meat on our bones so I am going to give it my best and be happy with the results!! LOL0

My current weight is 116lbs and my goal weight is 100lbs. But since I've been working out and seen a dramatic difference in muscle tone and inches lost without any significant changes on the scale, I have decided that it is okay not to reach that goal. The important thing is to me is to just look and feel better overall.0

Currently 121.8, would like to hit 110, trainer said to shoot for 115 with 19% bodyfat. We shall see...got down to 105 after mono and loved how I looked...but weight loss due to mono is pretty unsustainable and I shot back to 112 or so pretty quickly.0

I am one of those "eat more and loss" people, so I think that you should atleast eat your BMR.... but I aim for 2000 calories a day, but I also wear a bodybugg that tells me that I average 2300 calories burnt in a 24 hour period.0 -

I'm 55 yrs old, 5'3" big boned (wrist method), big bossomDDD,and my original goal wt was 135-145(high school wt). My doctor said 160 was reasonable for my shape and age. I have sagging skin from a 160 lb loss so far. Ive reached 160 and it seems I still will try for 145. I see the doc next month and will re-evaluate.I am in size 12-14 which was what I was in high school.0

I'm 5'3" and currently at 137 lbs and a size 4. Started at 200 lbs on the dot a year and a half ago. My original goal was 140 to be at least in the normal weight range, but now I've moved it to 120 just for kicks.0

I'm 5'3". I am currently 112-113 lbs and am happy . I started in January at 125 lbs. I wear a size 0/2. My original goal was 115, but I've lowered it to 108 lbs. I really just want to continue to replace fat with muscle. My calorie goal is 1200, which was calculated for me.0
