Hey! I am on the elliptical trainer everyday for 45-60 minutes. I also cycle on a regular basis (10 km).
When I add those calories to MFP should I eat them back or should I keep a total of 1200 calories intake?

Please use the search bar above to seek the info you need. This topic is talked about ad nauseum. Plenty of threads to read all about that subject.

    Good luck :)

Simple answer: you should eat them back, that's the was MFP works.

If you don't like the thought of that (a lot of people find it hard to get their head around it), work out a higher daily calorie intake for yourself (for example with this: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/538381-in-place-of-a-road-map) and don't log your exercise calories into MFP.

If you don't have a heart rate monitor, bear in mind that MFP exercise estimates and even gym machine estimates can be very inaccurate, so you might not want to eat all of the calories back at first, to make sure you're not over-estimating your calorie burn.

Bottom line: 1200 calories total (not net) is not enough to fuel that much exercise.

Okay thanks a lot! I just keep seeing people who don't do it vs. topics that say I should, very confusing
But that topic looks great, i will have a good look at it!!
  • Eat em back, or else your body will hit what it thinks is "starvation mode".

If you are attempting to build a nice physique you need to eat in order to supply the body with the necessary building material. Just like a carpenter needs material to build a house, our bodies need proper nutrition to build muscle, create hormones, and perform vital daily functions.
