my measurements:

-hips (largest point) 42"

-bust 40" [so i'd drop a cup size and be a DD]
-waist 26-27"
-hips 40"

5'4
bust : 42
hips : 45

I am a little more pear than hourglass.
At the moment, my measurements are: (Starting)
5'4.5"
42.5 (46) (36H bra size)
36.5 (39 or 40)
45 (49ish)
My goal measurements are approximately:
38 (it will probably work out to 32F or so)
27 (or smaller, I had plenty to pinch last time my waist was 29)
39
I store my extra in my breasts, lower tummy and thighs. I have been losing a bit in the waist, then the hips and bust and back to the waist...so I imagine it will catch-up to the 10 inch gap soon.
I don't consider myself a true hourglass, my shoulders are narrow. I am working on widening them with strength training so I look more proportionate.0 -
BTW, to classify as an hourglass shape, by definition.
Your bust and hips must be at least 9 inches bigger than your waist.
And your bust and hips must be the same size, plus or minus 2 inches, unless you have broad shoulders.
This is what makes me wonder whether I'm a pear. My hips are 15 inches bigger than my waist, but my bust is only 6 inches bigger than my waist.
Plus hips are 9 inches BIGGER than my bust. But my shoulders aren't narrow, I don't think.
Hmmm :noway:

My measurements:
Bust 39"
waist 28/29"
hips 41"
height 63"
Goals - 36/24/36 the legend.0 -
I'm 5'10" and a total hourglass.
Chest: 38"
Waist: 26"
Hips: 37"
I weigh somewhere around 155-160 (avoiding the scale for a while)
I am happy with these, but will continue to work on getting stronger.0 -
m not a short but hourglass is the body type i resemble the most atleast from back...
ht.. 5'5
chest- 41
waist- 34
hips- 410 -
I do not think that I am an hourglass, but more of a block shape. To me, an hourglass shape is more than a 10" difference in the waist and hip ratio. Like a 26" waist and a 38" hips.
I am 5'4.5" 129lbs
Bust 35
Waist 26.5
Hips 36.5
But, I do follow more of the hourglass rules for wearing clothes because I do have a big round butt (that is why my hips are 36.5...all butt!)
I guess hourglass sounds better than block!! haha! I know that when I picture an hourglass shape, I picture curves and I think I look sortof straight....but hey, I'll take it!!
yeah when i look in the mirror, i see myself more ruler shaped but when i see full body photos of myself (especially now that i'm losing weight) i'm like WHOA i look more like an hourglass.
think part of my issue is that I also have a short waist (there's only 3" space between the bottom of my rib cage and start of my hip bone), so any additional upper body weight shows up really well on my midsection.
maybe i'm somewhere between a a ruler and hourglass? i guess i wont know for sure until i lose all the weight i need to.0
