You can eat anything you like and still lose weight as long as you pay attention to calories. Of course, eating a varied diet including lots of fruit and veggies is much more likely to make you feel good and stay healthy.
I see no problem with potatoes (boiled, baked, microwaved, made into oven fries... however you like them) as part of a varied healthy diet. Yes, they have carbs but carbs don't frighten me. My opinion is that unless you have a medical reason to avoid carbs, they aren't going to be a problem.
  • thanks everyone!!

someonelikemyself: Potatoes (one's that are not sweet potatoes) have a bad reputation for no reason. They are a good source of nutrients, so enjoy!

glad you think it's funny, for some of us it's a matter of health. carbs=sugar for a diabetic, while they may not contain much by way of "natural" sugar they turn to sugar in the blood thus are best taken in moderation.

Anything in moderation. Never deprive yourself something that you love. I eat baked potatoes and use a tbls. of either shedds spread light or smart balance margerine. You could also skip any fat and just put the rest of whatever else you are eating on top.......

It will not be detrimental to your weightloss at all providing you stay within your daily calorie allowance, so enjoy :)
