I'll be surprised if you get a consensus.
If you're thirsty just drink the water. It's fine.0 -
If you are experiencing thirst, I think you should drink.0

I've never heard that drinking water during meals will increase your belly fat. I wouldn't worry about it and drink water when you want. There are enough other things to focus on when losing weight.0

What is in the water today?
Ugh.0 -
Don't check you common sense at the door.0

So far, consensus. I always drink something with a meal, and it's fine for me.
I actually find that the water during the meal helps fill me up and makes me less hungry for the food.
My father always drinks along with a meal as well. My father-in-law was brought up believing that drinking within a half hour of a meal is a major no-no. They're both in their 70s and in good health, so based on a very nonscientific low-sample study, I'd say you're doing your health more harm by worrying about it.
If you're thirsty, drink up (within reason - 8 glasses/day good, 20 glasses/day bad). Far more problems are caused by dehydration than overhydration.0 -

Your body is goint o metabolize water or food the exact same way, all day, every day...0

The only thing I can come up with for that is maybe people think that if you drink water, you will fill up on water and not get the nutrients from the food? I know that some people won't give their kids anything to drink during a meal so that they'll eat and not fill up on their drinks. Which I think is ridiculous, IMO.
I agree with others, if you're thirsty, drink. The only way drinking during a meal will increase fat is if it's a regular soda or beer or something!0 -

You can't spot reduce rendering that whole site pointless0 -
I asked the same question here

http://www.bellyexercises.org/5-tips-to-burn-belly-fat-quickly.html1. Never Drink During Your Meal:
Avoid drinking water during meal as it has negative impact on your stomach and belly shape. The best time to drink water is before having your meal or to have a hot cup of water or green tea, just after 20 minutes of regular meals. If you avoid water intake while you are eating, you can burn belly fat really fast.
What a load of nonsense..........the only sensible thing they say is to avoid diet pills and supplements (ironically they have a Herbalife ad on the page)0 -
there is plenty of websites say it is wrong to drink while eating
and others sites say it is ok
i know it is silly matter but also it is important cuz it is everyday action and we dont want to mess our diet0 -
Drinking water during a meal will not mess up your diet. High-calorie drinks would, but surely water won't.0
